- this piece is part of a design installation put on every year called Warming Huts

- they are places of interaction along one of the longest skating trails in the world

- the context of these piece is a bright orange wall clashing with the white snow expect everyone is allowed to pass through it

- in light of the current situations going on in the US, this design installation really hit the nail on the head and also put a huge grin on my face

Warming Huts: An Art & Architecture Competition on Ice

Sonus Loci project This year two warming huts and one site installation will be selected from the competition to be constructed on the Rivertrail. Warming Huts v. 2015 Two Warming Huts + One Art Installation Two teams will be selected in the WARMING HUT “Shelter” COMPETITION from submissions of designs for a warming hut to be located on the Red River Mutual Rivertrail located on the Assiniboine and Red Rivers in Winnipeg, Manitoba. One team will be selected in the WARMING HUT “Installation” COMPETITION from submissions of designs for an installation piece to be located on the Red River Mutual Rivertrail located on the Assiniboine and Red Rivers in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Teams are required to submit their project in one category or the other, but cannot submit the same proposal in both categories.
