"Thank You for the Home" I've been trying to do more practice work with paints for shading, and I found my happy place is skulls. Which makes sense, considering I love portraits and knowing how to shade a skull helps understand the facial structure in a portrait. I know a lot of you will love or hate this for it's creepy factor, but it spoke to me in the nature of life. Not to mention the colors in old skulls just fascinate me from an artist's aspect. . The reference for the bird is an azure-winged magpie. I don't think I got the size right, as they are part of the crow family, but hey, its pretty.
