Are there any plot tropes you are sick of/refuse to RP? If so, what are they and why?
Other than the ones I stated on my rules page, one of the plot tropes I refuse to RP is the amnesia thing, where my or someone else’s character has amnesia and stuff. I know with good writing, that trope can easily be controlled, but Indonesian soaps have done too many shitty stories using that trope that just the thought of it makes me sick.
Also anonymous babies--where my muse is magically turned pregnant or given a baby to take care of. Nope. Nuh-uh. Keep that shit away from me. I don’t want anything to do with it, not even as the baby’s supposed ‘father’.
What’s your biggest pet peeve when it comes to RPing?
People not trimming their posts. Like, after 10+ replies and no sign of trimming. I avoid following people who don’t trim their posts. I’m NOT alienating them or shaming them, god no, I just don’t want their lengthy posts clutter my dashboard. It’s a sore to the eyes especially after waking up.
Even on mobile, I maintain a trimmed posts. Tumblr app for iOS is an ass when it comes to trimming, so I’d save the post I want to reply to my drafts (thaNK HEAVENS no more link posts), open my drafts from Safari, and trim manually via HTML. It’s HIGHLY unpractical, but hey, I have aesthetics.
