I've haven't shared art in this account but have Megatron's severed head because Skybound had me on a death grip

He spends an inordinate amount of time trying to source energon for the hatchlings, and he still gets his audials chewed off by their caretaker when he returns.

He wouldn't have it any other way.

" You have everything you require here. "

Starscream's spark knew of this truth and welcomed it with open servos, even when his mind lagged behind the meaning of this assertion.

" AH wait— " he cried, arms poised to bound for defense, yet remain wide, servos touched together to soften the fall of Megatron into his digits, which curled at the edges at an implicit possessiveness driven by some innate force Starscream did not immediately recognized.

A coddling warmth rose from where his new master rested on his palms, over his wrist, up the length of his arms, and blossomed throughout his complex like ink dotted into water. This sensation that tore away prematurely the last time they had spoke, the last time he had wielded him.

A giggle slips from him, random and involuntary. Shock colors his sky-blue optics at his own reaction. " Oh o- kay. "

He knew he had no clue what to do with a proper weapon. Only in daydreams did he consider how one might weigh in his clasp, yet had no comparable experience to embody realism to it. And yet, his body shifts, chassis forward and proud, digits curled confidently around the padded hilt. The pad of his index slips over the trigger, barrel aimed assuredly towards the far target.

How am I doing this? comes to mind. Though, when he goes to voice his concern, his lips strangely do not move, nor does his voicebox bother to spin up the necessary sounds to speak.

The ease with which Starscream caught him again pleased Megatron; if this translated over to moments of higher pressure, he need not worry about being dropped on the battlefield. Coupled with the confident hold—each finger applying the right amount of pressure to his hilt—he knew he was right to choose this one.

His wielders had been few, and some he would sooner forget, but he knew he had never felt quite so comfortable in the hands of another. Smooth fingers encircled him in a uniquely intimate embrace, neither squeezing too hard nor loose enough to be careless. Somehow, he felt less vulnerable in a hold like this.

Inflicting his gift on his newest recruit would not be necessary, it seemed.

“Excellent work already, Starscream. You handle me well,” he praised, knowing the young flier needed the encouragement. “Now take aim at the nearest target. It matters not whether you strike true this time; first you must get a feel for what I am capable of.”

Anticipating Starscream's index finger on his trigger, he rerouted energon to his cannon, ready.

Soundwave places the latest progress report on the arm of Megatron's makeshift throne. Day by day since his lord's return, Soundwave had been dutifully tracking how their forces had been recovering. The script was organized and color coded by priority; at the top in bright red was the Nemesis and her repairs. Listed underneath were actions being taken, the percentage of completion, and many other metrics. The rest of the list progressed in much the same way.

The meticulously concise communication was, at this point, a bare minimum expectation for Soundwave. He had been doing this for eons. It felt right to be doing it again.

"The daily report, my lord." Soundwave said, "Things are progressing well, but we still await the proper clearance to begin our hunt for the Autobots."

As he took a careful step back, Soundwave folded his hands together in front of him and bowed his head ever so slightly. Gaze averted, looking towards the floor; he would only look up when called upon. A paragon of piety and reverence- loyalty.

“Thank you, Soundwave,” Megatron rumbled, taking the report in hand.

Using another’s optics to see was far from ideal, but until they gathered the resources to facilitate his own repairs, he would have to make do. He felt Laserbeak shift on his shoulder, adjusting their shared view so that he did not have to hold the proffered report quite so awkwardly. As usual, it was expertly organised, and was a welcome familiarity on this strange new world.

Their situation was improving, but their faction remained divided, with heavy losses that could not be so easily filled. Even with the gift that resided within his chest, there was only so much he could do with fuel as limited as it was.

And then there was the matter of his right arm.

“Optimus Prime took my arm for his own, yes?” His remaining hand came up to pet Laserbeak between the wings, a small reward for their continued sacrifice. “Perhaps it is time for us to begin our hunt; he cannot be allowed to keep it any longer.”

Correcting his grip? No problem. To him, these concepts were so rudimentary that he was absolutely sure it would be impossible to muck up basic instruction.

Upon entering the range, Starscream wheels in closer towards Megatron, feeling particularly chipper about what will be asked of him. The thought of the sort of gun he might wield passes through his mind and he had only hoped it was a hefty model; heavy in the servos, light on the draw.

And then, they wake up to the shooting aisle and the Seeker stared with wonderment towards his new master. And waited. Waited a few seconds more.

" Yeah, uh- " Did he already fail his first test ( preparedness )? " Am I- Did I- need to bring my own? "

⚔—;; "You have everything you require here," he answered simply, locking his gaze with Starscream's momentarily.

With no further warning, components shifted and reformed, coming together to form his alternate mode. His significant mass displaced as he transformed, shrinking down to the perfect fit for his newest recruit. No matter how many times he did it, the sensation was an odd one.

The momentum carried Megatron through the air towards Starscream's hopefully waiting hands. He had caught him so easily before, there was little doubt in his mind that he would manage again.

"I will be both your teacher and your weapon for this lesson." His treads whirred momentarily as he settled fully into place, stopping with a soft click. "Ready yourself."

Megatron backstory! God, he suffered. What he went through must have been mind-breaking ;-; and seeing the Dark Matrix is so vindicating lmao; the way he healed Ravage last issue was just so similar to how the regular Matrix does it

Getting an actual reason for his mind-controlling powers is really nice. Also ties in with the cyclical nature of abuse; the Quintessons, to Megatron, to Starscream. Inflicting what he went though on an unwilling Starscream. Ugh, feelings.

I can't decide if by "third form" the Quintesson meant Megatron is a triple changer from that point on, or if his tank mode was replaced by the gun. Since the gun has treads, it could really go either way... Though we probably won't find out until he gets his right arm back, since a significant portion of either alt would be missing.

Lots of interesting stuff. This issue felt really short even though it's a normal length... and I'm still worried for whatever's going to happen to Starscream -weeps-

There are a number of reasons, including the fact I have more muse/motivation for him than the others and organisation has become a whole mess for me here.

TFA Megatron will remain here, and so will Skybound and Bayverse—unless anything changes for me there.

Over the coming days, I'll be queueing up things I want over on TFP Megatron's blog, including things written/drawn for me and ic things I'm particularly proud of.

Any ongoing threads with him will be moved over there and continued as normal. Same for any plotted/established relationships.
