The fact that Thor's entire childhood friend group died (as far as he knew, he didn't know Loki sent Sif away) and he didn't care at all was such an interesting choice for the writers to make.

...his reaction to finding out that Sif is alive being basically "oh, hi girl, if you wanna go to Valhalla you should die in a battle and not in its aftermath" was also a choice.

I'm obsessed with the idea of Loki being annoyed by the warriors 4 but secretly wanting them to like him

Like, he thinks their devotion to Thor is pathetic but he lowkey wanted to be the object of their devotion 😭

I can't stop picturing him showing off to them a new spell he learned in a very nonchalant way, kinda hoping they would be impressed and that they would start admiring him some more, but that obviously never happened 🥲

Just the fact that he had them in his coronation fantasy and they weren't being humiliated or restrained, being forced to accept him or anything of the sort and were instead in positions of honor, smiling broadly and being genuinely glad for him just tells me everything I need to know about his feelings towards them

Also, let's not forget about him being so happy and relieved to see Sif in the time loop, he likes them, even if he won't admit it, he envies their bond with Thor and wishes he could have something like that, he was just so alone and desperate, but he couldn't trust anyone to get really close to him and that led to a lifetime of loneliness amd bitterness

Hi, I thought you made great points about about Kate's claim that Loki led a charmed life! I was wondering about the point of Thor's pals being about to beat Loki up without consequence. Were you referring to the episode with Sif, or is there other canon that backs that up? I can only remember seeing it in fics but it would be so so interesting if there were more than Sif and that.

@stardustloki Thank you! Loki's life was so far from charmed that it is really hard to name a fact from his life and not make a valid point why this claim is absurd. I only scratched the surface but in the reblogs there are a lot of great points.

"Thor's pals beat Loki up without consequence" refers to Loki's memory of Sif beating him up. I don't remember any other particular instances of Loki being physically abused by Warriors 3 and Sif in pre Thor-1 time in canon but watching this scene I couldn't get rid of the feeling that it's not the first time a thing like that was happening. Sif attacked Loki without a second of hesitation and it didn't look like she expected any resistance. And judging from what Loki said he did after that (took a bath, drank some wine, never thought about it again), he didn't treat this event as something extraordinary. So it seems to me like this was just one time of many. But even if it was a one-time thing, it still speaks volumes about Loki's status at court. I would imagine assaulting a prince in an absolute monarchy would actually be a punishable offence with pretty serious consequences for the offender. So one would think twice before doing something like that. But somehow this rule doesn't apply to Loki. Sif acts as if she knows she will get away with whatever she does to him.

Besides the Loki thing, I wish that someone acknowledge the injustice to lady Sif, Hogun, Fandral and Volstagg. They are important characters that were eliminated without a reason, not even for the sake of cheap jokes.

Yes, I agree. they were eliminated as part of destroying everything from previous movies and respectfully disrespect them. I remember I read that Zachary Levi wasn’t happy with Fandral’s treatment and how his line upon his death(“For Asgard”) was cut from the movie. Apparently they had time for Korg making unnecessary comments when Asgard got destroyed but not for Thor’s friends who he knew for more than a thousand years. He never even acknowledged them and their deaths. I’m just glad Jaimie Alexander couldn’t make it to the set because of her scheduled, otherwise Sif would end up dead too.

T1 is so wild because imagine saving people's lives and then having them BULLY you for it. And then imagine saving them countless times more, and having them betray you and get involved in a plan to kill you. Over a suspicion. A suspicion based on the fact that you are PHYSICALLY CAPABLE of committing a crime.

Seriously, what were Thor&Warriors 4 on. Wtf.

It's not even about my favorite character being mistreated, genuinely, what were these people thinking.

Vanaheim requests Asgard's aid with a creature, the Weeping Siren, which has been plaguing their lands. The fallout of this succeeds in drawing the Warriors Three, Sif, and Loki together, but may well accomplish driving Thor and Loki apart.
