Warwan Valley Trek (northern indian Himalayas)
warwan valley trek is 6 night 7 day trek, having three plus routes. Kargil-Panikhar to Warwan Valley, Zanskar to warwan valley, warwan valley to pahalgam.
The trek reaches the maximum height of 4380m, Botkhol Pass. The trek passes through terrains like frozen glaciers, meadows, lakes and rivers.
The adventurous part of the trek is crossing the glacier of Botkhol pass. The glacier named as sagar takes almost half an hour to cross. Meanwhile there is also a river crossing, post glacier walking.
This trek needs pre mountain experience. The first time trekkers need to acclimatize for at least 48 hours before starting the trek.
Most of the trekkers prefer panikhar route for the trek. From the kargil's panikhar village, the highest point of the trek that is 4380m is achieved in the 2nd day. After crossing Botkhol pass, It is a descending trek afterwards.
The trek ends in Inshan Village of Warwan valley which is located 150 kms from srinagar at the foothills of Margan top.
An another highlight of the Warwan valley trek is that you see the Nun-Kun peak 7153m from a good distance.
