catharsis
You look up at the sky. It's raining, has it ever rained? How do you know it's rain? Does it matter? You're going to get drenched. For some reason, you don't care.
The rain hits your face and you finally close your eyes. The droplets run across the scars on your cheeks and down your neck. You've just made either the best or worst decision of your life, what's the harm in a little water?
The sky looks down at you. Gold specks decorate the expanse of darkness behind your eyelids. The desert has never felt so much like home to you. The rumble of thunder reaches out to your heart, you start counting the seconds in between their calls.
You are just another lost soul fighting for purpose. But maybe, maybe you're okay with that.
