Surprise!! For those who were unaware, I've picked up a new hobby: roller derby! On the left was my first time on wheels in at least a decade using borrowed skates. On the right, me in all my own gear and standing slightly more confidently, 4 weeks later. It's hard. And fun. And challenging. And rewarding. And I'm often awesomely sore. 😁 For now, I am practicing and learning the basic skills. Meaning: no, you can't come watch me. Yet. :) I hope to eventually be on a team, though! Basically, this is where I'll be every Wednesday night. And yes, I'll be careful! That's what the pads are for. I also haven't picked a derby name, so if you have a suggestion let me know! Nothing too obvious cause it's probably taken. 😉 💪🏻p.s. I am indeed wearing a t-shirt advertising the movie "Whip It!", which is about roller derby.
