Our Valentine’s dinner date turned into a day trip. We met Eldest dottr on the Riverwalk in Washington NC on what turned out to be a gorgeous warm spring day in the middle of February. Stopped at Riverwalk Coffee Shop first to grab some coffees and then walked all over town popping in and out of shops, making note of things to go back and revisit.
Then we quenched our thirst and copped a squat at Two Rivers Alehouse where the guys had some IPAs and dottr and I had this Chocolate Espresso Prosecco slushy thing that was pretty amazing even if it gave me the worst brain freeze headache of my life.
And then it was magically time for dinner so off we went to The Bank Bistro - literally inside an old bank building from 1862! Right up my alley! And I failed to get a picture of the bar which is located inside the old vault. So cool. That is dottr hiding behind the water bottle and her date beside her. I had a dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives (3) and a filet that melts in your mouth like butter. No dessert. We all were too stuffed! But the waiter brought everyone a chocolate covered strawberry anyways.
The whole day was a good time.
