Game 91: Pong (WASM-4) Mar2026
It's basically just a worse version of Pong, and you wouldn't know it at a glance. A lot of what makes Pong work as a game is how much you can influence your input into the ball along with the way you are able to control your paddle. These 2 mechanics on top of the proportion size of both the paddle and ball really make this Pong game feel like a bizarro version of it because once you start playing it you notice something is off. The main problem of course being all the subtle changes like longer paddles, smaller ball, and the inability to really go faster for matches. All these little elements line up to effectively make this Pong version both easier and harder to play. Easier to hit the ball, but so much harder to score a point. The ball can only go so fast, you can't really hit it on the side to make it go faster, and mostly you would need to trick the AI over any actual fast leg work like in the original. Is it the worst version out there? No. Plenty of Pong games have gotten it wrong before, and while this wasn't particularly enjoyable, on a glance it at least looks like Pong with the ability to change the palettes. As far as playing Pong though, stick to the classic, this one is a close, but no cigar kinda game.
