Wasted Wine presents: Julia
Wasted Wine is a Gypsy Folk band from South Carolina whose live performances are filled with humorous cabaret theatrics and blistering violin solos. Amidst the southern drawl in the band's sound there's also strands of Eastern European and Romani music.
Their musical output has earned attention from regional and national media outlets, with their latest release, "Wasted Wine vs. The Hypnosis Center" being featured on NPR's All Songs Considered with Bob Boilen describing it as “a bastard child of David Lynch and Nick Cave.”
New song JULIA
“Julia” is a Southern Gothic ballad inspired by the South Carolina legend of Julia Legare — the woman said to have been entombed alive in 1851, and the door that would never stay shut. The song blends cinematic folk and dark Americana with violin, bouzouki, and live strings, building from quiet tension to an explosive finish. A haunting, emotional piece from our upcoming album The Open Door.
