       -- the pause is silent, heavy; the air is thick and pregnant with that which is left UNSAID. now that she is here, all of the pretty words that  Jasper had practiced, had whispered again and again in the churning  chaos of her mind, are nothing more than SMOKE. already, she has  been abandoned, FORGOTTEN. is there any point in trying? 

❛ and what do you want, LAZULI? ❜ the name is torn from her throat in  a horrid GROWL. this gem does this to her, turns her more BEAST and savage. oh, the irony that after all that time kept against her will, she had been the left B E G G I N G to have her still. 

she would not debase herself further. the ashes of her pride stir; she is  WOUNDED, but never will she break.
