“Okay, gang. It looks like our first place to beacon is close by.” He peered down at the screen on the light gun, taking his steps at a methodical pace while keeping alert to what was in front of him. He really didn’t note where he was, which is where his companions came in.

“It’s...” He glanced up to where the screen pointed the first beacon was. He glanced back down at the screen. He glanced up to where it was pointing again. He glanced back down at the screen just to be sure. He stared at the screen for a few more seconds.

“Hm.” They barely started, and he was already tired.

“It says here the beacon should be placed on this combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.”

Everything he’d known was thrown out the door when he’d arrived. This wasn’t Yokohama, not even close...but if there was a territory that he could claim as his own to start his own war to change the world, then screw it, until he could get back home...to see his land, his sis again...he’d bide his time. 

Unfortunately, overthinking tends to get Samatoki frustrated, so when he found himself nearly colliding with another, he let loose with a low, angered growl, looking to face the intruder, giving pause when he saw that it was a woman. That tempered his anger a little, but didn’t stop a curse from slipping past his mouth. 

     “Shit...lady, you got a death wish, tangling with someone like me? If you don’t wanna die, then watch where you’re goin’, aight?”

“I think you’ve come to the wrong place, the CCG only coordinates with real investigators (not ameteurs they find off the streets).” Urie glared down the woman standing in front of him. His narrow pupils somehow managed to narrow even further when they looked down on her. Despite the intensity he was giving off from his eyes, the rest of his face remained blank, cordial, he was merely trying to keep a civilian safe.

“I’ll be investigating this area Civilian. (Don’t get in my way.) This was obviously a ghoul attack. What do you think you can possibly contribute?”

Reigen’s head was half cocked, eye shut, and hand still in the air as he was summoned frozen in one of the middle of his grand gesticulations. He remembered a blue light shining so bright he could see it in the back of his eyes, then hearing an explanation from an annoying voice. Really, he thought leaving his office job meant he didn’t have to deal with any bossy ominous overseers anymore. 

Utterly confused, but also unwilling to admit it he put on his poker face as he looked around. Whatever poker face he might have though was ruined by his hands, which folded together in an awkward mish mash of fingers, as he tried and failed to line up each and every one of his finger pads. Despite the nervous gesture, when he finally noticed the girl in front of him he spoke in a confident voice. 

“Ah, I see! You must be a client. I’m going to have to charge you extra for the house call, but while I’m here you might as well spill it. What have you called the 20th century’s greatest detective, Reigen Arataka for?”

The news report shocked Phoenix enough that he had to come here to verify the truth of this story. In the middle of the Entertainment District, someone was pushed into a TV antenna, piercing their heart and killing them instantly. The motive?

“It was a dispute for a bunch of Saint Fragments, I’m sure of it.” One of the officers says to another. “We found some residues of it at the victim’s hand.”

“Damnit!” The other officer protests. “How many more victims will that f****** virus claim?!”

Phoenix was waiting from afar for a chance to enter and investigate, but he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t astonished by this development. Sure, he wished to obtain those things too, but he wouldn’t go that far for them!

(…Huh? Who’s that woman over there?)

          “A detective?” Chikage repeated after the woman told him of her occupation. Not only that, but her memory would reset at the start of each day; Chikage wondered when it was decided by life to have him deal with amnesiacs. His own real ‘job’ surely made him one of her targets, but he hasn’t acted on them yet and he hardly worried due to her status.

          “This place must be one large mystery for you to solve then, considering there’s no way to leave. But isn’t it fruitless when you forget the next day anyway?”

          Hell, it’s a mystery Chikage’s wanting to figure out; his skills have shown so to not be useful in this case.

Regardless of her warning, Chat Noir wouldn’t be deterred quite so easily. Sneaking around at night, especially in more dangerous areas, tended to be the best way to gather all sorts of interesting information. Granted, it was more of a risk than usual with his magic and abilities weakened, but that only made it all the more exciting.

If he remembered correctly, this was the same woman from the overlay crisis that had called him “T*xedo M*sk.” It really had been fun, scattering roses around—maybe she’d have a few more interesting ideas? Even if it put information gathering on hold, Chat wouldn’t mind in the least if he had a good time.
