Bangkok: Crawling Out of Internet Limbo
10may08- i haven't gone on the internet for the past week or so. i think am having withdrawal symptoms. the connection at home's been problematic and i've been too spent everyday since i got to bangkok to actually get online. yup, am on my first REAL trip for the year. :) roadtrips don't count. got to thailand last thursday and will be here for another week. did most of the touristy things already here in bangkok: went to a couple of temples (wat traimit where the golden buddha is, and wat ben, the marble temple), shopped (pratunam, suan lum, chatuchak, mbk, central world), ate great thai food, and watched siam niramit (the local broadway-style musical extravaganza they have here). am actually tired of being a tourist already.
good thing tomorrow, i'll be on traveler mode again as we rough it out, backpacker-style, in ayutthaya. no transpo reservations, no hotel bookings, almost no advanced research save for a quick look at the lonely planet guide and tips from malou q. :)
