               “Oof!”

       She grunts as her body suddenly has extra WEIGHT added to it — she’d been enjoying sleeping in { though not SLEEPING so much as laying awake on her stomach spread out across their bed } and now, judging by the added mass atop her back, her boyfriend has seen fit to lay directly on top of her.

                          “If this is your idea of foreplay,” she mutters into a pillow, “You suck.”

             But she’s LAUGHING beneath her breath.

        ❛  i just  ---  don’t think i can be around that many people. i know i need to try but since everything it’s just ... hard. i mean, can we just order in? i’ll even let you pick the movie.  ❜   there is a bitter sobriety poised along fragile bones ( a glass heart left vulnerable ). she is a WRECKAGE ; struggling to remain whole. bones drag along the ground  ---  her soul lost betwixt constellations.

                                          the station is a sea of unfamiliar faces, clad in thick jackets && hats. she’s wrapped in a blanket, legs bruised && etched with bloodied scars. jess is yet to see the paramedics, but her wounds are the last thing on her mind. interrogation has SHAKEN her, question after question a blur of distress. they won’t tell her where anyone is, despite the glint of hope in her voice. when chris ambles through the doors, frail digits tighten her hold on the blanket. she stands, ached && broken, && stumbles towards him. ❛  chris... where are they ? mike --- did he make it ?   ❜
