Iced in and still watching DS9 for the first time in years. I'm up to the third episode, A Man Alone.

Why does Odo have DNA

Makes no sense whatsoever to me

He is a completely different form of life. I mean he's played by a human in rubber makeup, but that's a restriction of American television in the '90s. He is legitimately alien, one of the few major characters in the entire franchise that isn't just human-shaped but a little different. He shouldn't have DNA. He shouldn't have mitochondria. He shouldn't have blood

I love this show but it's pretty silly folks

I restarted watching doctor who starting with Gatwa's season 2 because of Varada Sethu and my love of andor.

I'm really feeling like I'm watching a kids show. Something is feel a tinge off even if its fun.

Trying to figure out if I'm coming into it overly critically, or if the show has changed.

Watching avatar the last Airbender rn and just saw the bloodnender episode and like... low key it's cool? Like if I was a water bender I'd be like so excited to be able to do that

find it a bit funny how incredibly injured producer got tho. i thought maybe he'd have a broken arm or something, but he can't move at all and required surgery lol.

Gorgeously animated, full of creativity and personality, with lots of engaging little character vignettes and strong comedy. While the drama can falter a bit and everything about it as an idol show doesn't click with me, it's the overall execution that makes The iDOLM@STER.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------Idolmaster's 26th episode (The Story of 765PRO special) was just the series playing with its very best jokes and most successful gags one after the other. Absolute joy.

i lost my fucking shit after this like three minute long trailer for an incredibly complicated and dramatic murder mystery/drama, we got a "screening simultaneously: the girl who digs holes! can she get all the way to brazil???"

Decent little OVAs. The Miki episode kinda sucked but the really sick music video made up for it so.

All in all, still fun.

I don't think the Idolmaster movie leans into its greatest strengths too much. While the first ∼ 40 minutes are lovely, the rest of the movie is trudging through dramatic conflicts that are only just about fine. But then that final performance is so good, so what the hell.

yeah..... that's what i thought.

how everyone around her never listens to her struggles and the producer especially is constantly dismissive

sure, he technically did later on, but it was also just a temporary thing he followed along with for the day so she could be a prince all the other days. (also, kinda annoyed by how many girls are semi-infatuated with the producer now)

also think these antagonists are a bit goofy

even by the end here, she's just shot down as she still displays reluctance playing this role but she's forced into it

she deserves better. hope she finds a prince soon.

the show hasn't really impressed me much in terms of music, so it's good that we actually got a genuinely strong song for this.

promise it's not a self insert thing on my part, but i definitely feel like that's part of why it's in there and what's that's so annoying.

stuff like this also just sucks about idols and i can't get behind it.

i think the series has been really good at showing the girls rising up in the industry but it also therefore has to embrace parts of the industry where my head just goes "why would you want that?"
