fine silver with a nice patina from the flux during the process, which is simply melting the metal in a crucible- 

-and then you pour the molten metal into a container full of water. best if the bottom of the container or bucket isnt made of anything that the metal would melt or attach to [steel works]. then you get random shaped chunks of metal of various sizes, depending on your pouring technique [fast/slow/etc] and depending on the temperature of the water. and when the pieces all come out weird, its awesome and you can make cool brooches and things and then take horrible pictures of them with your crappy phone-
