Solas HC : Lavellans' Parents keep sending him gifts to show their acceptance and encouragement. Her mother knits gifts for him, like fingerless gloves, even a mug cosy. Her father sent him a tobacco pipe and a fancy ink pen, all handcrafted especially by him. If she has younger siblings, they send Solas drawings or letters. Although Solas 'tries' to remain detached from them, knowing they may fear him if they knew who he really is, he of course cant help that his heart warms to them all.

OC fact swap: Rowen is not a mage... but her younger brother is, so she feels particularly protective of him.. and this is why magerights matter to her, why she volunteered to go to the conclave. She also used to buy books from stalls to help him learn and harness his skills, knowing itd keep him safer the more he knew.

Kaia and Carver had a pretty strained relationship growing up. The biggest turning point and moment that properly kickstarted them starting to get along was during Legacy, specifically when they were facing off against Corypheus. Both Anders and Varric had been knocked down and it was up to the two of them to stop him. Them working together like that plus getting that message from their dad, it helped them start to put aside their differences and really think about how much they meant to each other. They were the only family they had left (except, of course for Alden and Bethany) so they had to stick together.

I love what you said in tags about dreams and reality.. I wonder what Solas would think about that ???? :o

Solas strikes me as someone who, especially in his earlier years, saw them as one and the same, even when the Veil didn’t exist. He slept and dreamt for millennia but was still informed of what was going on, so the ability to affect change on reality is true for him as a Dreamer. Even when he woke up, despite being weak, I believe he used his dreams as a way to move his agenda forward without having to leave Skyhold. And I like the idea that he’s always represented as a large black wolf in the Fade/dreams, so even if he’s giving direction to spies with whom he speaks with in ‘the real world’ they would be no wiser to the fact that its him.

It’s a topic, generally, that’s weighed heavily on my mind in the last couple of years (thanks death anxiety)—we remember our dreams, to differing extents, so is there an element of consciousness in them, and how real does that make it? If so, is that the same consciousness as the sleeper, or are they connected to their soul in another ‘actual’ place? Is the reality we experience, that we think is reality, just a vivid dream? What implications can that have on our experience if we can harness that aspect of our consciousness? I dunno, it’s more questions and theories but its fun to explore in the context of Solas and DA.
