Purple Pier by TIA INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY Via Flickr: This is Pier 66 (a.k.a. Bell Harbor) at Seattle’s waterfront along Elliott Bay. As I drove along the viaduct after sunset, I enjoyed the familiar, flickering lights of the city’s ferris wheel, which has now become a permanent landmark since its construction two years ago. However, it was the unfamiliar, spectacular illumination of the gigantic ship behind it at the pier that caught my attention, made me change my route, and head directly to the waterfront. NOTE: The ship is the B.E. Cuauhtémoc, a Mexican training ship that was offering free tours to waterfront visitors! It was a beautiful evening. On my iPod, one of my favorite songs from Prince, “FALLINLOVE2NITE” was playing.
