HC: Facial hair – Did Aizawa used to shave on a daily basis? If so, when did he stop? If not, did he ever grow a full-grown beard?

Shota hasn't ever had the energy or mental fortitude to shave regularly. As a young man when he started to grow in his beard he never bothered trying to shave it. He might not have ever verbalized it but growing facial hair is a milestone of manhood that Shota was proud to wear. Shota isn't particularly strong compared to other heroes and his fighting style partially relies on intimidation factor. His gruff appearance has ended up becoming an attribute to his identity as a hero.

He typically doesn't wear a full beard, but instances that he might have is when he is doing something undercover and is trying to conceal his identity.

I have a small headcanon here about Shota being the only male in his immediate family to keep facial hair [1].

The huge man looming in front of her desk definitely looked like he'd seen better days, the ill fitting black suit he wore hanging from his skeletal frame in a way that seemed somehow too small and too large all at once.. Or perhaps it was the man inside of the suit that was simply too tall, too gangly, too thin for any normal article of clothing to fit properly. Piercing blue eyes glimmered from beneath the shadow of his angular brow as he peered curiously down at her from his impressive height.

He could have cut an intimidating figure.. But the way that his large hands folded together shyly over the handle of his briefcase, coupled with his gentle gaze and warm--albeit nervous--smile immediately defanged whatever imposing presence he could have had.

His tense posture seemed to relax a bit when Mikiko stood to introduce herself, and he was quick to return a polite bow- the gesture made somewhat awkward by his height.. And the lengthy blond bangs that immediately fell into his face.

“ Puddles? " He echoed, lifting a thoughtful hand to his sharp chin. His expression gained a hint of amusement, though not unkindly so. " How charming! So, you're a hero then! Maybe you can help me with-- oh! Ah- ahah, where are my manners? I haven't even introduced myself. "

He fumbled around his pockets for a moment, finally producing a somewhat plain business card which he graciously offered to her with an apologetic smile. " Toshinori Yagi, I'm here on behalf of All Might's clerical office. "

“We couldn’t be more different.”

"I think that might be why we get along," he replied, not looking up from the laptop that he was pecking at. He hated filing reports and yet here he was again, filing reports.

"For some godforsaken reason I allure the most fun-loving, chatty and bubbly people. But as the saying goes, the world would be a boring place if we were all the same."

"I feel like I look stupid, maybe it's because I know I don't need them. But, thanks."

A small note:

Don't forget to switch out your old eyedrops for the new ones I placed on your desk.

Make sure to stay hydrated. Drink a glass of water now. I mean it, Aizawa!

It's going to be sunny today, so use sunscreen, especially on your nose.

In the fridge there's a yellow bento box with kitty stickers, it's yours. The blue one is All Might's... Please give it to him. Thank you.

A random note of care!

Aizawa's eyes narrowed at the note as if he was expecting something bad was underway. Messages on his desk could range between innocent to nefarious and he wasn't sure what to expect this time. Upon recognizing Mikiko's handwriting, the tension in his face dissipated and returned back to it's neutral state. All good things, kind things even. He really hadn't expected anything less upon realizing who it had come from.

A small smile flashed his lips as his eyes moved over to the new eye drops, picking it up and turning it over in his hand before pocketing it. Eraser then pulled out his phone to send Mikiko a message of thanks;

[Text] Thank you for the kind note of reminders, the bento and eyedrops. [Text] I will see you at dinner, the same place as usual, right?

“What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think of me? If it’s jellyfish, that’s the only right answer ! !” She pressed a pink post‑it to his forehead, a cute little jellyfish scribbled on it. “C U T E ! !”

Aizawa went crosseyed as the note as adorned on his forehead, his nose wrinkling at the new accessory. Calloused fingers then reached up to pluck the sketch off of his face, his mouth flattening into a straight line as he took in the beauty of her artwork.

"Jellyfish?" he repeated before giving a nod of his head in agreement. "Yeah, I associate those with you but my mind usually defaults to water in general." The corner of his lip twitched and threatened to turn upwards as he added; "Oh, and being obnoxious."

Mikiko plopped her head on top of Shouta’s. “You know, I ship us… but are we the Titanic or one of those ships nobody remembers because it didn’t sink?”

Aizawa gave the woman a soft grunt of acknowledgement, tapping the ends of a stack of papers onto his desk as a means to straighten them. His head tilted back ever so slightly, his eyes rolling up as he tried to get a look at Mikiko.

"Is that your way of flirting? Because I think I might swoon," the teacher replied evenly. The permanently tired look on his face didn't falter even when cracking jokes. "I think prefer the latter of the two. Being infamous isn't exactly a good look for a hero."

Did you know that books are just a bunch of letters? And there's only, um, I gotta count... OK! There's only 104 letters. How do they make such big books with that few letters? Words are weird.

Unprompted silly message!

"I had no idea, I thought they were made of ink, he said dryly. "I can't wait for you to find out there are thousands of kanji." His brows arched before dropping again into a straight line. "But what do I know? Writing isn't one of my strong suits and I rather read someone else's book of letters," he confessed. "Is that what brought this on? You wanted to talk about books?"
