Come join us as we celebrate the one-year anniversary for the Watermelon Sugar music video. While we were at home staying safely away from people, our fearless leader decided to gift us with a video about touching.
Watermelon Sugar was released as a promotional single in November 2019 and was officially released as a single on May 15, 2020. While teasing us with a slowly filling table and chair on the beach in Malibu, a countdown began for the long-awaited video. On May 18, 2020 we were given the sweetest gift of seeing Harry bring a plate with a wedge of watermelon then sitting and eating said watermelon. Can we ever forget seeing him in torn up blue jeans with juice dripping off his chin? I don’t think so. The song has achieved so many accolades since its release including a Brit Award for British Single of the year, and a Grammy Award for Best pop Solo Performance. This weekend we are going to showcase the iconic video, review the song’s achievements and look back at the few, precious performances of Watermelon Sugar we have been lucky to get so far.
