The Palace at 4 A.M - Alberto Giacometti - MOMA According to Giacometti, The Palace at 4 A.M. is a metaphor about love relations, stemming from the memory of an affair that had lasted about six months and ended about a year before he created this work. Throughout that time, he claims, they did not see the day-light, days and nights bore the same color, as though it was all taking place early in the morning. “During those nights”, he stated, “we used to build a fantastic palace... a highly fragile palace made of matchsticks”. This is one of my favorite works of art! #AlbertoGiacometti #moma #Giacometti #modernart #sculpture #art #design #awesomeart #watermrk
