This year me and J are protecting one day a week to create things, and we're holding each other to the promise of creativity.
Spent my first creative day at the Giacometti and Mona Hatoum exhibition at the Barbican – I'd wanted to go for ages but had put it off. It was a small exhibition but really brilliant, a perfect morsel to start the year with. Especially loved the glass works which felt somatic, held intense movement, yet also completely static. Sat in the library after and finished some drawings then met J fresh out for the recording studio for a cinema date at the Garden.
“They are familiar, they walk in the street. And yet they are in the depths of time, at the origin of everything, they keep coming near and moving back, in a sovereign immobility.” –Jean Genet on the works of Giacometti
