waterwitcch has appeared!

     Way up in Earth’s atmosphere, a ship breaches the clouds. Way down on the ground, a gem looks up from her book. Slowly, Peridot stands up. And then she walks over to the door of the warehouse. Poking her head out of it, she looks up at the sky.

     The ship greets her eyes. Her stomach drops into her shoes.

     “Calculating...” Scurrying back into the warehouse, Peridot throws her book to the floor and then shakes Lapis awake. “Where is the nearest warp pad?”

a wild waterwitcch appeared!

     Jasper has been watching the house up on Beach City’s hill for a while now. There is a gem in there, sitting on the kitchen table--it’s huge and pink and beautiful. 

     Jasper has to have it.

     Now, she’s creeping in through an open window. Slinking down a hallway. And slipping the treasure into her pocket. Its weight drags on her coat. Grinning, she exits the house and traipses down the beach, feeling like the queen of the world.

     “I’ve gone through this town’s archives and read every notable thing they have to offer. Why are you still here? Watching me read can’t be all that entertaining, especially for a gem of your age.”

     Peridot is on her way back to the Homeworld. But when she cusps the planet’s atmosphere, she turns her ship around. She can’t face her superiors; she can’t lie to them. It would be breaking code. And she has already shattered it. She had let her prisoner go, and for what? Her heart?

     She scoffs. The trip back to Earth doesn’t take long, but while she travels, she is plagued by one word: traitor. She is just as bad as Rose Quartz and the Crystal Gems for letting the Homeworld’s sole lead to finding them slip away.

     Her ship turns into a comet when it breaches Earth’s atmosphere. It shoots down towards the ground like a bullet, and slams into the dirt like it had been punched there.

     Twelve hours later, and the ship is still not done repairing itself. Peridot has done some thinking. She has thought about how if someone got hurt, they would be in pain. And she has thought about how if she were them, she would feel bad. “I understand now,” she says. “You care because you don’t want anything bad to happen to you. And by not wishing ill on others, you are producing good will for yourself.”

     “You. How did you escape your cell? It was gem-proof!”

     On this trip to the beach, Ko has made sure to stay far, far away from the cave with the sharp things. His feet are making prints in the sand on the opposite side of the shore. And the ocean is tickling his toes. He swipes his cane back and forth, searching for obstacles. But he finds none. Until one finds him, and he is sent sailing towards the ground. 

     “あ-あれ--?!”
