#3593 - Acacia pulchella - Prickly Moses
The common name might be a corruption of 'prickly mimosa'. So prickly, in fact, that the epithet 'pulchella', meaning 'small and beautiful' is not the word I'd use to describe it. Especially when I'm trying to wade through it to get to a more interesting species.
One of the most common shrubs in bushland around Perth and adjacent regions. There's apparently a small population in South Australia, too.
Usually swarming with green spring chafers (Diphucephala sp.) when in flower.
Kalamunda NP.
