I've been seeing (on Pinterest) photos of DND monsters you illustrated. I'm uncertain if you also came up with them, but I was wondering if you would allow me to include them, by mention, in a fan fiction I'm writing? It's just a Harry Potter fic, but I've found your drawings to be absolutely brilliant.

The only published dnd monster I can think of is the moss kittens! And I'm fine with you using them in anything that is just for fun, and not for profit. I am side eyeing the Harry Potter theming though. But I suppose if you are not giving the head terf any money it's fine... I guess.

BLM has published a plan to maximize logging in Oregon forests, including old growth forests, without due regard to wildlife (including endangered species) and waterways. They're claiming it will help prevent forest fires, though that seems to be contrary to current science, including that published by the forest service (you can find a list of sources here). This is in response to Trump's executive orders 14223, Addressing the Threat to National Security From Imports of Timber, Lumber, and Their Derivative Products and 14225, Immediate Expansion of American Timber Production.

We have 30 days to submit comments if we want to prevent this. This article has suggestions for what you can say, and how:

This is so fucking important. If they succeed and follow through with this plan the entire ecology of this state will be devistated.

Look at this map. Anything in green is on the chopping block. These forests contain the last stands of old growth forests in the state and are irreplaceable. You cannot just replant them.

Clear cutting these places will not only devastate the forest ecosystems but will have ripple affects that also destroy the local watersheds that provide drinking water for nearby populations, recreation and tourism which provide income and jobs for much of the state, salmon populations would be devastated when their spawning rivers and streams are destroyed by the heavy machinery used in clear cut operations. These salmon populations are the same which countless people have been fighting for and work to bring back and protect for decades. Clear cut areas are MORE prone to devastating wildfires due to the invasive species that come in after the forests are gone. Removing established forests like this and saying it is proper fire management is just wrong.

The idea that the local area’s lumber mills and infrastructure can even handle this level of logging is laughable. The logging industry has been long in decline, largely because it is not a long-term sustainable industry. It doesn’t scale because we have run out of forest. What is left will only last for a few more years of “maximum logging”. And then what? You have destroyed a thriving and vibrant ecosystem and devastated local communities.

And this is all for the short term benefit of a few CEOs of logging companies and the politicians they have paid off.

This proposal is an ill thought out, short sighted, cash grab and will bring none of the benefits the BLM claims.
