PSA for Wattpad Users

There is a spammy potentially malicious link going around at the minute. It's advertised as a porn site. Do Not Click This Link If you see one report the comment, the account. Block the account. If the work is yours delete the comment so your readers cannot click it. I've had this link on 3 different works from 3 different accounts in the last 2 days. Be safe, spread this information if you can/want to (no pressure)

To those that might have accounts on Wattpad

I have discovered two scams. I haven't interacted with said people doing the scams but there are two. One is where there is someone sending a message about a Paranormal story that is supposedly the next "#1 Paranormal story." The photo is the first message I had receive of this scam and then second message I receive is the following text: "Hiiiya! Sorry for bothering you. I'm an editor, me and the writer are working on an amazing story. 92.9% of readers voted it as #1 Paranormal Story. We still hope to learn the most picky readers' opinions. I can see that you have a fantastic taste in books. So, well, I'm now super excited but anxious to know what will you think about it. May I send you some sample chaps?" As you can tell, slightly different message but the same contexts. They were also sent by two different accounts. I’ve also been sent another message like this before - the first time it happened - and just deleted it without thinking nothing of it. Until it showed up again by someone else.

The second scam revolves around Webnovel Editor, who has a page on Facebook. Webnovel and Webnovel Editor are two different pages, Webnovel is verified while Webnovel Editor is not. I received a message from a supposed "Author Liaison representative, representing W e b n o v e l," claiming to have "read the initial chapters" of a novel and "feel that your novel showcases your capabilities as a writer thus, I would like to invite you to publish on our platform W e b n o v e l." The issue with this matter: I have one novel out on that account that only has one chapter. Upon going to their Facebook page, someone had even commented about how they don't even have a novel on their account and got the same message via Wattpad. Just a warning for those of you who have a Wattpad account.

I don’t know if anyone else has posted about these but I figured to do so either way.
