I like to think wander and ford met a few times during Ford's travels and were friends. But ford always considered him sort of out of reach, like he was more of a deity to record than a potential relationship (especially considering the last time he went for a deity) but they meet again at the prism and they talk about Ford's bad breakup and then relationships in general. I personally hc them both as aroace in most contexts so tbh they're perfect. And dating, and they makes sense to them. Ford likes to be dating a folk hero. And it wasn't wanders intent, but his image is hardened a bit by having a bad boy bf. He's messed with villains before but this is a rugged HERO type and everyone is like... oh he could be serious about this this could be good and healthy for him.

i haven’t actually thought about it in the future much but i love those scenarios! i think it could work for them since they always get carried away with long-winded adventures that wouldn’t be what others seek in a relationship.
