11 years later

I rise again!! Hey y’all, I was finally able to get into my account again. Oh man where has the time gone? It’s been almost half a decade since I went as sir-pimp-master-arthur which is crazy. 

I’m 26 now (I was 15 when I made this account...jesus christ), currently in my first year of medical school, and I have a wife (who I’ve been with for 7.5 years)! 

Honestly would never have met the former if I never had tumblr which is so crazy to think about tbh, tumblr really changed my life. Although I always call it the miserable hell site, it played a vital role in growing up and developing my interests. Not to mention I now live with one of the RP partners I had on here 11 years ago?? Which is so wild to me. 

Thanks to anyone who still follows me after all this time (which is still almost 4k people I’m p sure? Nuts) and anyone who takes the time to read this. I probably won’t be active again, but I really wanted to take the time and say how much this site has changed my life.

~wave’s curly hair tips~

A lot of you messaged me that you also have curly hair so I’m sharing what little tips I have to offer!

Note: curly hair is SO SO SO different for everyone that not all of these tips may work for you but it’s a good starting point!

1) STOP BRUSHING YOUR HAIR. Use a wide toothed comb instead!! This reduces frizz and encourages natural curl patterns! 

2) Try to use paraben/sulfate free shampoos and conditioner. This doesn’t mean you need to buy professional hair care products!!! I buy mine cheap at Walmart and it works! I highly recommend Maui Curl Quench or Organix products!

3) Don’t towel dry your hair. Curly hair is naturally dry!!! Towelling it down dries it out more and creates frizz!! Put product in right away after your shower to lock in that moisture!! 

4) I recently learned that curls respond different depending on the temperature. In warmer weather (think above 70 degrees F) you can get buy just buy using a mousse or gel for styling. But in colder weather, you should consider adding a leave in conditioner to your routine! Locks in that moisture again. YOUR HAIR NEEDS AS MUCH MOISTURE AS POSSIBLE.

5) Stay away from heat. I used to straighten my hair all the time in the winter and it ruined my curl patterns. Now I only blowdry my hair straight for really special events. If you do decide to straighten your hair, use a heat protectant!

6) Finally - don’t get discouraged so quickly. Your hair takes roughly 3 months to adapt to a new hair routine or shampoo and conditioner. You might not see results right away and that’s okay!! Give your hair time to figure itself out.
