I feel like there’s this assumption in online spaces, particularly tumblr, that cis men are bad allies, or transphobic and homophobic by default, or any manner of assumptions along those lines. I just want to throw my two cents in and say that this is absolutely untrue.
The amount of support that I’ve gotten from my cis guy friends has been incredible. Even if they have some assumptions of their own that are false or say things that may make me raise a brow, an imperfect ally who is trying is worth a lot in a world where we have been trained to be afraid.
