A newborn grey seal pup cuddles up to its mother on the beach at Horsey in Norfolk, UK, as the pupping season begins at one the UK’s most important sites for the mammals. Almost 4,000 baby seals were born along the five-mile stretch of coast in Norfolk last year, making a record for the region. The seal population between Waxham and Winterton-on-Sea attracts thousands of visitors each winter as the young seals are weaned before re-entering the sea.
