With Beachhead, I’d say I’ve got a pretty respectable squad of Joes now. Not that that’ll stop me from getting more, though!
Beachhead against the forces of Cobra!
Last time we featured Sandman, so I guess it’s only fitting today’s figure would be Beachhead. This being a Target exclusive meant it was VERY hard to find for awhile, but thankfully Hasbro has sorted that problem out and that meant this figure got a lot easier to find.
Thank goodness too since Beachhead is definitely my second favorite member of GI Joe, aside from Snake Eyes. What can I say? I’m just a sucker for masks. This figure only reinforces that favoritism as it’s another great release from the Classified Series.
One thing I love about this release is how much personality the face has, despite only half of it being visible. The articulation is the Classified standard and it’s as solid as ever. The upward tilt of the ankles is a bit restricted by the shin guards, though. That, the solid green weapons, and the fact that only the left hand has the vertical hinge are my only real complaints. There’s so many lefties in this line.
Still, I definitely love this figure. After how long I waited for it, it definitely meets expectations.
Despite me laughing at this moment I’m a bit annoyed that they made GI Joe so trigger happy (l can also argue how this feels a bit off for Beach Head, who is a very disciplined and annoyingly patient person, to just go off and be the first one to shoot).
I mean yeah Optimus and his Autobots took over and they won’t leave and yeah they have Soundwave and Megatron on their side and that’s hella fucked up after AHA happened. But so the Autobots have been non hostile and are helping people, it’s so idiotic to just go in and shoot them (especially since most of the earth weapons do shit to them).
It also doesn’t help that Rom later on makes things worse.
