The fact that the declarations of love that both Peter and Richard have made about each other have been while talking to Gamora.

But this is the first time one of them tells the other directly and to their face that they love them

And it’s Peter, and it comes after having a fallout with Richard and after Rich asks him why he cares about him and Peter is a bit offended about Rich asking him THAT of all things.

He knows Rich is in trouble and he’s willing to do what it takes to save him even if Rich is gonna be stubborn about it.

The way Peter did all that because he knows Rich is in trouble and way over his head and Rich is still sore about Peter’s betrayal from the events in Imperial and still asks Peter why he cares about what’s happening to him.

And Peter is almost offended about that question and has to remind him why he’s doing it.

Anyway I am so livid that McKay didn’t get to write Imperial and that Marvel Editorial sucks.

So Quill hires a renowned spacial thief to steal Rich's ship just so they could meet again because they broke up in Imperial and were not talking (plus his entrance walking down the stairs like the Disney princess he is). If this isn't the gayest move Peter ever pulled, I don't know what to call it.

And it’s so like him because his manipulative ass would do this knowing that Rich is having a hard time with money and having to sell his skills to not so reputable criminals like the KSW and is desperate for help (and face it Peter is so keeping tabs on Rich).

He’s also positioning himself as Rich’s savior, the solution to his problems, he has the money that Rich so desperately needs and it’s obvious he wants to use that to get Rich on his side.

Too bad Rich is so stubborn and will make things difficult for Peter, lol.

I just read Nova Centurion #3 and it was pretty much“Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss” Richard Rider edition.

I’ll probably go through it in detail but holy shit.

another thing. what was up with nova volumes 1 & 2 kind of implying the remaining xandarians kind of view rich as like. a second class citizen kind of. or even property a little bit. I think about that a lot

Because he was the strongest Nova and some of the Xandarians didn’t think he earned them to the point when even if Rich was the most veteran Nova in the group they didn’t respect him. Also because he was a Nova they thought his interest should align with Xandar’s even if they conflicted with Earth’s own interests.

This was all before the “Novas are space cop” thing because they were Xandarian military and then peace keepers but even after Annihilation Worldmind wanted Rich to prioritize itself and Xandar over everything.

Nova: Centurion #5

THE NOVA AND THE STAR-LORD!

One war brought these two heroes together, and another tore them apart. Now the Star-Lord is a true lord of the stars, while the last Nova in space has been laid low. Can this friendship be mended? Or are some wounds unable to be healed?

Jed MacKay is going to fucking break me with rierquill angst, I know it , I just know it.

Peter being a full emperor and authority figure in space and Rich being the outlaw that’s barely holding it together and being forced into taking jobs that he hates in order to keep WM going makes for an interesting dynamic.

I can also see Peter reaching out to try and mend things with Rich, trying to make him understand why Peter did what he did. I can see Peter trying to repair their relationship (in the worst way possible, lol) and get Rich to side with him and offer to keep WM going with all of his unlimited Spartax money. That way Rich also doesn’t have to sell himself to anyone for money and be miserable, Peter can provide for him.

But Rich hates what Peter did, he feels betrayed, and he is sticking to his moral principles. He is so stubborn as fuck about it that it will drive Peter wild.

Jed if you make something deliciously angsty out of Hickman’s crappy story I will buy all the Moon Knight trades for your MK run.

And if you’re not picking this up then do it!! This comic is so good.

Not Yr-Kett and Rich barely meeting and both Aalbort and Cammi already going “Yes they’re going to kiss” 😭 they know his type.

Blown away by how excellent the first issue of Nova: Centurion was! Just a really, really good comic! Don’t miss it!

the thing is that this direction would have worked for peter if the writing had simply framed it as something he thought was needed for the sake of the galaxy. we've seen him be ruthless for the perceived greater good, many times; that was a big part of his character in the times before mcu synergy. that was an aspect of his character that i wanted to see return.

but this? completely falls flat. because as it's written, it's not even about that, it's peter feeling obligation to a father that it makes absolutely no sense for him to feel obligation to. you're trying to tell me he'd choose said father it makes no sense for him to feel obligation to, even over this best friend? no. this is insanely out of character.
