Everyone forms a union and votes L out of the polycule. A, Sloan, and E all fuck nasty at one point. Morgan is just kinda there watching it all happen and wondering how they got here.

Confused. Utterly and wholly confused. You want a kid? With them? Don't get them wrong they'd love to, they just can't understand why you'd want to have one with them specifically. And if the conversation goes farther, they're so nervous about the idea. Again, they'd love to have one with you, but they're terrified of turning out just like their parents.

Sloan

Sloan is to spoilery sorry. Let's just say that it would bring up some very bad memories for them :-)

Their first thought is no. There are so many things that could go wrong. So many dangerous people in the world that could hurt a kid. Bringing one into it? No, to much. But now that the idea is in their head? They can't stop thinking about it. After your initial comment, they'd eventually come up to you to talk about it more. Not now, but at some point.

L

A baby? You want one of those? L is unfortunately not enthusiastic about it. If you just dropped it out of the blue, they would just do their best to ignore it and move on. They don't even know what a parent does. Or if they could even have a child. If you ever keep pushing the topic, it's going to be a disappointing conversation.

Morgan

You drop those words around Morgan and they will be dropping everything else they had that day. You want kids? They will make sure that you get them, don't you worry. And if biologically neither of you can get the other pregnant, that will not stop them. They will break the laws of biology to get you that kid.

It’s the MC’s birthday, and the ROs want to surprise them. The MC had mentioned before that they love homemade sweets, and those are their favorite gifts. So…what would each RO do, and how well would they manage in the kitchen?

E doesn't cook often for themself, let alone bake, so they'd try to go with something simple. Probably just like a regular ol' cake or something along those lines.

As for how they'd manage... not good. They can do simple stuff fine, just to feed themself and nothing more. Anything beyond that and they're struggling lol. You'd probably figure out what they're up to from smoke coming from their kitchen.

Sloan

Sweet rolls. Simple, quick to make, and they'd be able to add stuff to it depending on what kinda flavors you like the most. They're a bit nostalgic for them too, they've made them before.

They'd manage pretty well too. You might not guess it at first, but they cook pretty often and they're decent at it too. Baking isn't their forte but they can manage it just fine.

A

They'd have a really hard time figuring out what to make, A is not a big sweets person. Eventually, they'd settle on Coyotas, something they had when they were a kid.

They'd do fine, especially since they aren't the hardest thing to make make. Though if they had to do anything harder they'd definitely struggle more. Baking isn't something they've done really ever.

L

They don't cook or bake for... reasons, so having to make something is an incredibly daunting task. They'd have no idea what to make, they'd debate on whether to by something and just lie and say they'd made it. It would go 50/50 on them actually doing that or not.

If they decide to make something, they'd just go to a bakery or something nearby, find a pastry in it, and try to make it themself. It would NOT go good.

Morgan

It would take them some time to figure out what they'd want to make for you, but eventually they'd settle on making a pie with whatever flavor had been you're favorite in the past.

And they'd do GREAT. While they aren't great at cooking, they love baking. They did it as often as they could in downtime between jobs. And now they get to do it again.

Your not their type? They thought they weren't your type??? Why was that the reason you said you two weren't together, not just that you two weren't? Que the over thinker. It will take them some time to work up the courage to approach you about it, but the whole time they're a blushing stuttering mess, talking about how anyone would be lucky to have you and how they're the one that isn't a anything to write home about.

Sloan

The moment they hear those words leave you, Sloan is slinking over to drape themself over your shoulders. When they do they're in close to your ear and whispering "Now when did I say that?" They might even cop a feel if you let them, doesn't matter whether you're in public or not. They'd make it very clear quick that you're incorrect.

They're not sure how to proceed after hearing that. Confidence in these areas has never been A's strong suit. The topic would end up stewing for a while. Anytime the two of you interact, especially if you flirt with them, the comment of 'not their type' is on their mind. Eventually it would just build up, them getting irritated about it blurting out that you're an idiot, you've never even asked them about it. You don't even know what they're talking about in the moment. It wouldn't be surprising if it turned into an argument when they unintentionally confess to you lol.

Honestly, they might have fully well have been giving you that impression. They didn't even realize that you were their type until, well, hearing that comment and then starting to think about it. That won't do, it'll only drive you away from them. L will try to put more care into their interactions with you, which is a lot coming from them, but they'll never out right admit that you're wrong. That would mean admitting that they had fucked up in the first place and they can't have that.

Morgan

Confused. When you get a moment alone, they just go "I married you once, you remember that right?" If you go on about how you've changed or you're not the same MC that that married, they stop you. "There's still some of the MC that I first loved in you, and I have learned to love the new parts too. I thought I was pretty clear about that." They're going to start being significantly more open about how they feel about you from now on.

What would the RO do if they got startled awake by a nightmare(in Morgan’s case again)that something happened to MC. And MC is just passed out starfish style on there back oblivious next to them😌

You were sick, dying. They couldn't figure out what was wrong. Everything they knew only made it worse. Till eventually you simply passed, painfully and ill, while all them could do is watch.

When they wake up they're already crying. Looking at you just laying there motionless next to them through watery eyes only makes their anxiety worse. You're woken by a teary eyes E who just seems to start to cry a bit harder when you start moving. They're crying harder cause they're happy. Just don't remind them of it, they will feel bad about waking you up over it.

Sloan

That thing that took her, it's taking you too. They struggle as much as they can, but the mire and mud only clings to them weighing them down too much to catch you as long spindly arms rip you away.

Waking up, they look for you right away and find you sleeping peacefully next to them, all splayed out. It makes them laugh a little, but their mind keeps going back to their dream. They don't wake you, they don't move to get closer, they just watch you. Watching as your chest rises and falls with each soft breath. They don't go back to sleep, eventually settling back down next to you to just stare at you the rest of the night.

There's a fire. A can't find you, all there is is smoke. But they can hear you, shouting and screaming. Yelling their name. No matter how hard they look, they can't find you till your voice eventually goes quiet.

Shooting awake, they first just take a breath to calm down. Once they ground themself and look at you, sprawled on on the bed and almost hanging half off of it, it just helps them relax. They'd lay back down and play with your hair a bit as they try to fall back asleep.

L

They don't dream often, so when they have one -- and a nightmare at that -- they're unnerved. Especially where you're ripped away from them, something that is theirs and only theirs, never to be seen again.

When they wake up and see you starfished across the bed, first they're annoyed. How could you do this to them. Make them feel this way, all while laying so peacefully and stupidly next to them. After fighting the urge to wake you up out of spite, they're up and out of bed to double check every room to make sure that no one else is here, near you.

Morgan

It's a dream they have pretty often. One of the night you left them and when they go out to look for you all they find is your body, already cold and gone with nothing to be done to save you. When they shoot awake, they're already reaching over to grab you.

Seeing you all splayed out peacefully does calm them down, but they just need to be close to you. They're moving so they can rest their head on your chest, listening to your heartbeat steadily underneath your ribs. Only then will they actually be able to fall asleep again.

It's narratively immensely satisfying how the course of the story completely changes with some key choices, like taking Morgan's eye (great scene though I am sorry Morgan). The scene you get with L after is soo good and I wonder if you would ever see them unravel so if you don't become a murdering wraith.

The early ending with the hole also sets an interesting worry for the future, seems the wraith cannot die too often, or mental anguish should not get unbearable. Plus them still being after the same target as when human! I imagine L would have been delighted by this turn of events though and tried to control the wraith. I wonder if they could even cause this to happen with the bracelet.

In contrast I'm intrigued to see if you can still save yourself from the murdering path after ending up in jail because of Morgan's eye, especially if with Sloan who now definitely does not trust you and the potential tragedy with E letting the wraith stay despite what happened. Though I assume Morgan might not let that happen.

It was also interesting that the wraith was stressed about their weapon of choice, maybe it's related to their "life" force or is a totem for the revenge so they feel they need it.

All over love how the story is opening up now!

i personally looooove when ifs have different paths you can take that have like meaningful effects on the course of the story. it's my favorite thing in the world. L is my little freak for the story. they are my outlet for everything.

that's the exact purpose of the early end lol, up until that point you don't really get to see the consequences of dying and now you do. once it's all written, there will be an epilogue for that ending and L will get to see the MC like that. they will be very entertained.

the path for if the MC attacks Morgan and goes to jail is definitely and interesting one. think like reluctant bonding through forced proximity lol. the stuff with Morgan will be very fun too.

as for their weapon.... 🤭
