==========================
Blue struggled to move. She managed, with incredible effort, to lift herself to her paws, but as soon as she stood, another spasm shook her and she fell, landing hard on her stomach. “Clover! Clover, help!” she wailed, trembling.
Clover had left that morning to find them another den to use after the last one’s roof gave in under the pressure of yesterday’s rain. She hadn’t returned since. Blue tried to find her when the cramps started, but she didn’t want to be alone during such a painful and vulnerable time, so she kept looking. She must have been so far from home now. Why couldn’t she have just stayed? Clover was probably back there, wondering where she was.
No, if Clover went back, she would have followed Blue’s scent trail. She must still be out there.
I have to stand..I have to stand. Blue rose to her paws again, slipping a few times. She half-walked, half-dragged herself on, moving agonizingly slowly through the pines while in agony. Then the scent of cats hit her nose.
It wasn’t Clover, but it was help.
Blue stumbled. Panting, she let herself drop onto her side. “Help!” Her voice was rasped and weak. She could hardly hear it even though her ears were a whisker-length from her jaws. The cats wouldn’t hear her. The scents weren’t new, they probably left long ago.
Blue was about to sob into the grass that poked at her face, when she heard the rustling of leaves. On instinct, she hissed. Was it a fox? Oh Stars, please don’t let it be a fox! She sniffed the air, and could have cried in relief. It was just a tom.
Sure enough, one came into view. His fur was brown, legs lighter and with a ginger tinge, and there were darker rings around his eyes. Blue reached for him, her claws digging into the soil so hard that they bled. “Please help me! My kits–I think they’re coming!”
“Oh,” the tom responded. Blue realized that he was young, but that was okay–she would take any help she could.
The tom didn’t move from where he stood two tail-lengths from her, watching blanklessly. “I’m afraid my mentor didn’t teach me how to deliver kits yet,” he told her.
“I don’t care! Get him if you need to–no, wait, don’t leave me! Just help! I think something’s wrong!” She wasn’t sure the kits weren’t trying to get out by clawing and biting at her insides until they spilled from her sides and belly. She would definitely bet on it.
“Are you in pain?” The tom tilted his head.
“What does it look like–ah!” another spasm rocked her. “Please! Help me!”
The tom padded behind her. “Uck!” He exclaimed, making a face with his tongue sticking out. He moved away quickly. “That’s disgusting!”
“I don’t want commentary, I want help!” Blue was growing too afraid to be angry.
“You want me to look at that again? No thank you!”
“What?” Blue couldn’t believe her ears.
“As much as I enjoy blood and such, looking at that is just disgusting.”
Blood?
“But I–But I need you! My kits need you!”
“Yeah, well, I need to keep my appetite. Have fun with your situation, but I gotta go.” With that, he turned and trotted carelessly away.
“Please!” Blue sobbed, watching as his figure shrunk and disappeared. She was certain now that she wasn’t going to survive. Tears stained the dirt beneath her at that thought. Please, please Stars…someone find my kits.

--Remember that time it was said that Myrtle let a loner die while giving birth? Well!
--Myrtle is a young apprentice at this point.
--Blue was 19 moons when she died, hence the title ‘still so young,’ the complications were caused by her young age.
--It’s possible Clover had feelings for Blue. The reason Clover went missing was because she got a bad scratch while hunting. She couldn’t run from Twolegs who found her and who took her to the vet.
Clover did manage to escape eventually, and found Blue’s body--possibly after it had already started to rot.
All together!

doubt he regrets it cos its myrtlewing but does he think about blue?
nah chances are he completely forgot about her
went back to add it to the post, but since some people probably won’t read it again, it’s possible Clover had feelings for Blue.

Myrtle didn’t seem bad until he looked so would he have helped or was he thinking about helping?
Myrtle is a do what I want kind of person, so it’s possible he considered helping, if not just to have the kits grow up to be future play-things
Or maybe choosing to help so that when he needs to help someone in the Clan give birth, he looks better for already knowing so much, making Blue a practise dummy
either way, it wouldn’t be for Blue or the kits
It’s interesting, too, when you remember that Alder’s mother died from birth-related complications
and Myrtle left an in-labor mother to die
