Name! That! Apprentice!

Another forum game, revived! Help me give these apprentices their warrior names! I'll give you a description of an apprentice, players will then be able to submit what they think their warrior name will be. When time runs out, I'll choose my favorite of the submitted names to be the winner, and another apprentice will be brought forth to receive their warrior name!

Each apprentice will be posted on WEDNESDAY. New names can be submitted until MONDAY. A winner is chosen on TUESDAY and another name posted WEDNESDAY.

How to Play

Participating is simple: reblog the apprentice and post or tag the reblog with a warrior name you feel is fitting for the cat!

For now, only reblogs count. You can reblog with a comment or a tag! Post comments will NOT count!

If multiple people suggest the same (winning) name, all players that submitted that name will get credit for the win! (Though I highly recommend looking through what names have already been submitted and trying to pick something new!)

Unlike with my name rater, I WILL be considering reasons for the suffix you picked! Please do use your reblog to explain why you think your name is the most fitting.

Recent seasons have been harsh on all the unfortunate souls who live below the now starless sky. In order to survive, a band of cats have come together to found a new clan and a new way of life...but will they survive under the moonless night?

Hello! Welcome to New Moon (Empty Skies), which may be the first Warrior Cats command game on Tumblr!

...So. What does that even mean?

A command game is a type of game in which a group of players each take control of a character, then make the character take actions that impact their setting through the use of “commands”. Every command is prefaced with a "/", then an action (hunt, patrol, play, bond, forage, gather, or heal are the most useful commands, but more on that later), and last brackets or parenthesis around the name of your character. This probably sounds a bit confusing, so here’s an example: 

/hunt with … (Wishstar) 

This command would be sent to this account’s asks, and it will send Wishstar out on a hunt. When the ask is published, other cats may join Wishstar by replying with the same command. Let’s say Silverpaw decides to do that:

/hunt with Wishstar (Silverpaw)

Now, Wishstar and Silverpaw will both return with prey for the prey pile, and the clan will have some food to eat this moon. Of course, next moon, more hunting commands will need to be sent out. A moon, of course, is a month in the game, although in real life, a new moon will everytime we update (bi-tri weekly).

Each moon is like a “turn” in the game, in which all cats will be able to perform a set number of commands. Until the moon “closes” and signals its end, cats will be able to edit what commands they’ve decided to perform with /cancel. Let’s say Silverpaw changes their mind and would actually rather not hunt: 

/cancel (Silverpaw)

As long as Silverpaw cancels the command before the moon is closed, they will no longer join Wishstar’s hunting patrol. Commands will also be answered and take effect after the moon is closed:

Wishstar hunted and caught 4 prey!

Once all commands are answered, information about the next moon will be published in a new post. This information will include the season, how much prey the clan has, any events breaking up the clan’s daily routines, a “clan news” containing a list of notable events from the prior moon, and every living cat’s profile and stats (name, appearance, skills, bonds with other cats, health, etc—these will be expanded on in a more complete information post). 

That about sums up the basic premise of command games, although a lot of information has been omitted for brevity’s sake. Basically, to very quickly summarize, you get to control a cat and do clan-y things like hunt, patrol, heal, have kits, make friends with others, fight stuff, die, and generally have fun! And of course, if you have any questions, whether it’s about something we’ve covered here or not, feel free to shoot us an ask (please don’t disregard the “an ask” part)!

More information, specific information, will be written soon, and the same goes for sign ups. (!) But, for now, just give us a moment, stuff is coming soon! If you want to be tagged when sign ups come out, just leave a comment about it :)

Also, a note for ethos or whatever: command games are not new to the world, just (probably) to Tumblr! This is a planned out, tested game, with years of history, and multiple games have been run by both admins. They first became a thing on Wattpad in late 2017/early 2018, and though they kept a consistent community for several years, they’ve since declined in popularity over there. But especially during their peak, command games as a whole evolved tremendously from what they were at first. From the first game's creation (UnitedClan), to many famous (Withering Flames, Mind Games, the DriftClan Trilogy) and infamous (Sparkling Sands) incarnations, all have been unique and varied, introducing different game mechanics and ideas—murder, differing clan structures, pets, genetics, and even lore.

Hello!! So as of my last post I finally have each aspect of the game planned out and I’m onto drawing sprites and assets. I wanted to start out with the sprites and colours for the custom cats because this is a large part of the game, however, this is taking longer than I originally anticipated due to the fact that I’m not too familiar with drawing cats. So, I currently have placeholder sprites so this won’t take away from the time I wanted to spend on the actual gameplay.

I still wanted to share at least an idea of what kind of things to expect in the customiser, so I have drawn up the colours and markings I plan to use. I also intend to add more specific breeds as well, but that would be a quite lengthy process so for now I’m keeping it very basic.

The exact colours that I’ve picked out aren’t final, and I plan to do more research to make them as accurate as I possibly can. I also want to add that in addition to these colours and markings there will also be options to add white to areas of the cats as well.

I believe this is all for now. Hopefully in my next post I can go over more of the gameplay. However, school has started back again so updates may be slow.

Warriors game?

Hey there! I'm new to tumblr so excuse my not knowing what's going on. Basically, I've had the idea for a warriors inspired game for a while but never had the motivation to go anywhere with it.... until now!!

I'm here to pretty much share my development and also gain feedback from others. So think of this blog more of a devlog! :)

Anyway, here are some of my ideas into what you can expect to see in this game. Feel free to give me any suggestions and feedback on these as well! Firstly, the main idea is building up your clan and organising and performing day-to-day activities, such as hunting, patrols, interactions with clan members and maintaining relationships with other clans. This will be done through a variety of different gameplay aspects such as; fully customisable cats (looks, names, personalities and clan roles), multiple clans in one save (clans can interact with one another in, gatherings, alliances, and wars), story options (these interactions would mainly be between same clan relations, such as exiling and "deleting"), the ability to call clan meetings, moon cycles and events, and individual stats (like strength, speed, etc) that can be improved upon.

I also have smaller ideas and ideas that I'm not even sure would work for a game, so I'll keep them ones to myself for now. But, yeah, I hope this sounds interesting enough because I already know this is going to take up all of my free time....

warrior cats: the fanmade rpg

hey so for fun i have decided to make a warrior cats rpg!! ive already started on sprite work and i don’t really have any goals, this is just for fun and a passion project. i guess i would love to complete into the wild and if i get farther, then cool!! i don’t know how long i’ll be working on it, or if i stop for a while and get back at it, but that’s fine with me and this is more of a project for me to have fun and contribute to warriors as the book series that gave me the passion i have for reading, writing, and storytelling today :]

i’ll be showing almost every little bit of my progress in the rpg! again, i don’t know how long i’ll be working on this or if i’ll only be doing this in certain periods of time over a year, but i thought i’d let the warriors community know in case there’s any interest. i will be following the book/books to the t, meaning no deviation from the plot at all and you’ll be able to explore the warriors world in rusty’s/firepaw’s/etc eyes.
