So I was thinking about this book series concept I had when I was like 11-13 (so like a few years ago) that was inspired by wof and WC but with griffins and like the different groups where all different bird types (like corvids, birds of paradise, birds of prey etc) I tried to rewrite it recently but never finished it
And in vain of the inspiration series this was like what was 12 yr old me on in batshit insane and weirdly dark
Here's some fun moments:
The prologue is a bird of paradise griffin realising their husband has seemingly vanished in the middle of the night.
There is a guy (an owl griffin if you need to visualise this) who is hundreds of years old because he was one of the first people to discover magic and thought an immortality spell was a really good idea and due to this because he is only enchanted to stay alive his injuries no longer heal and no one can help him so he sits in pain unable to move and slowly losing all his senses.
The villain also tries to use this immortality spell and it fails killing him. Specifically the spell tries to use more magic than he physically has so his organs to one by one slowly turn into magical energy with it flooding out of his body like blood. Until his entire form discintigrates.
The possible second series then included. A griffin who is tricked by their girlfriend into becoming the subject of an experimental magic spell. That causes a plague that effects anyone capable of using magic to become ill and eventually die their conscience being absorbed into the singular griffin creating a being that is made up of dozens of dead souls fighting for control over someone else's body.
Average 12 year old behaviour tbh
