- Raven, Roach, and Rain are siblings. Their mother, Rancor, was an unfair mother: as soon as they reached three moons old, she made sure they knew how to hunt, and left them to fend for themselves. She told them many a time that she wouldn’t be around forever, and, though it made them feel tougher, it scared them to the core. Rain had promised herself that she’d stick by her siblings’ sides no matter what came their way.
- Rancor was a lying, cheating cat. She lied so much, her kits didn’t know when she was telling the truth half the time. Often, Raven found herself wondering if She was telling the truth when she said she loved her.
- When Rain, Raven, and Roach were abandoned by their mother at five moons, they tried desperately to find her. Only to find a cat named Darktail. Darktail had promised they’d get their revenge, but he has yet to follow through on it.
- Rain is still unable trust cats very well, she was wary of Darktail for a few moons, even after he seemed to prove that she could trust him. She couldn’t lose Raven and Roach like she lost Rancor. He couldn’t handle that.
Pepper and Shade
- Pepper was orphaned at two moons old, her father, who had been raising her after her mother died of a sickness, hit by a car. Pepper could only wander around. She nearly starved to death when a loner found her. Shade took her under her wing and fed her, treating her like her daughter.
- Shade and Pepper found Darktail and his rogues on ShadowClan territory, and decided it was best to join them and rest. Shade wasn’t as young as she used to be, and Pepper knew that she wouldn’t be able to travel any longer. They settled down and Shade got to know Ratscar while Pepper became close friends with Beenose.
Flame, Sap, and Slit
- Flame and Sap are Slit’s half siblings, Slit is a few moons older than the two. Flame and Sap are both small , but they make up for in their sharp claws and aggressive attitudes. Sap often started fights with other rogues they’d meet on the road, giving him scars to prove it. He was lucky Slit was with him so much, for they had a wide knowledge of herbs, thanks to his mother, who disappeared near the sea one day when Slit was eight moons old and Flame and Sap were only two moons, never to be seen again.
- Slit often got into trouble with foxes and badgers, losing her tail in a fox fight, but that’s not how she got the scar of her eye. For three moons, she spent his whole day beside the sea, waiting for her mother to return. Sap and Flame hunting for her, but she barely ate, staring at the waves with tired. Eventually, Sap got sick of it and he yelled at Slit that she was never coming back. Slit cried that he was wrong. They argued and argued and Slit screamed and cried until Sap reared up and unsheathed his claws, giving her a deep scratch over her eye. Her eye was injured, but it healed over time, and she was able to see a blurry world through it. She doesn’t talk much anymore, not with Sap and Flame at least.
Thistle
- Thistle was a big softy growing up. She had a wonderful mate in a young cat, Dew. Thistle and Dew were both great-grandkits of BloodClan cats, born in the alley where Scourge once ruled. Of course, BloodClan had broke up, but their parents still wore the teeth-studded collars. Thistle and Dew always spoke of leaving the alley and finding a new home, far away here.
- When Thistle’s parents heard about this, they weren’t happy. Thistle watched, helpless as Dew was attacked by Thistle’s father and a few other BloodClan rogues, given one deep scratch on her throat. Thistle cried that she’d do anything for them to stop, and her father stopped. Thistle was forced not to speak with Dew anymore, and Dew was taken to a Twoleg for help. Thistle gained a toothy collar and did as her father told her, beating trespassers and murdering cats who tried to escape the alley.
- Moons later, Thistle did escape with the help of Dew. She had a horrid scar on her throat, and a few more over her eye, her ear shredded. Thistle tore off her collar, leaving her pelt ragged around her neck, and they left the alley. Four BloodClan rogues caught them and attacked Dew. Dew cried for Thistle to run, and she did as she was told, horrified as she listened to her mate’s blood-curdling screeches. Thistle doesn’t know what happened that night, she doesn’t know if Dew is dead or alive somewhere, looking for her. She became hard and emotionless, except for anger that made her sick and tired and cold. She missed Dew. She left Dew behind.
Ember, Cherry, Birch, and Juniper
- Ember was a kittypet, who fell in love with the cat next door, Midnight. He was kind and handsome, and was ecstatic to find out that Ember was carrying his kits. Ember was just as happy as her mate, until she found out from a neighborhood cat that her kits would be taken away a few moons after they were born. Of course, Ember was horrified. She voiced her concerns to Midnight, but he was furious when she suggested leaving. She argued that he wouldn’t even be able to see her kits, but her mate didn’t care. He spat at her, saying he’d track her down if she left him.
- Scared for her and her kits’ lives, Ember begged her kittypet, Snuff, friend to help her take her kits away. Snuff told her she knew of a group of cats who could help her. She left Ember for a while, before coming back with a big, black-and-white tom. He introduced himself as Darktail, leader of SkyClan. Ember had heard the strange stories of SkyClan, living in a gorge not far from her home. She told him she was desperate to be taken somewhere where she can safely have her kits. Darktail promised refuge from her Twolegs and mate
- About a moon later, Darktail and his cats brought Ember and Snuff to the gorge. They let her stay in one of the caves, setting up a nest for her. Three days went by. Ember and Snuff were well-fed, and treated kindly by Darktail’s warriors. Ember went into labor that night, giving birth to three kittens. Ember and Snuff named them as soon as they could, after the trees they could find in their backyards: Cherry, Birch, and Juniper.
- Snuff began to get antsy in the camp. She told Ember one night that she saw a brutal fight between two cats, Rain and Flame. There was blood, and Flame nearly took Rain’s ear off. Ember only shrugged and said that’s just how wild cats are. Still, Snuff was nervous.
- The night Ember was dreading came. Midnight found the SkyClan camp. Ember hid the kits in the cave and confronted him. She said she’d leave him and her Twolegs if it meant keeping her kits. Midnight only laughed, asking if she’d be staying with the crazy wild cats. Ember spat anyone would be better than him. Outraged, Midnight smacked Ember with his claws, leaving a deep cut on her cheek. Darktail called for an attack and Flame and Sap rushed forward, bowling into Midnight. Ember stared in shock as Flame and Sap ripped at his fur, leaving him battered. She cried for them to stop, saying she never wanted them to kill him. Darktail looked confused, asking what she did want. Ember flattens herself, frightened, saying she only want them to protect her from harm Darktail argued, “That’s precisely what we’re doing. This cat’s better off dead anyway.”
- Regaining his balance, Midnight lunged at Ember. She yowled, but he never landed a blow on her. Snuff bowled into him, shoving him to the ground and giving him a few scratches. But Midnight was too strong. He overpowered Snuff, pinned her to the ground, and sank his teeth into her throat. Both cats bled out that night. Ember never felt more sick. She nearly vomited at the sight of all the blood. Raven escorted her back to her cave. She shook as she wrapped her tail around her kits, promising she’d protect them from harm.
- Though Ember didn’t agree that Darktail should have ordered to kill Midnight, she still owed him her life. She stayed with him, letting her kits grow up in the SkyClan gorge, half-starved as they didn’t get much prey. Ember knows one day she’d be able to get away from Darktail and all this violence. She just needed to wait for the right moment . . .
Maxie
- Maxie was born into the soft life of a kittypet. She never wanted to live any other way, she was happy with her housefolk and the cat she grew up beside, an old white tom by the name of Casper. Her life was perfect: she was let outside every so often, she always had food and water, she couldn’t think of a better life. Until she met Honeytail.
- Every cat knew about the SkyClan cats living in the gorge near the town. Maxie always thought they were just ruffians who didn’t want to live in a house, but they had a Code, and they followed StarClan’s pawsteps. The more Maxie learned about SkyClan, the more she wanted to know. What was it like hunting and fighting for survival? Why did Maxie only ever see Honeytail around the town. Were warriors not allowed to visit the kittypets, as they called them? What were these other Clans Honeytail kept babbling about?
- Eventually, Honeytail and Maxie grew quite fond of each other. Maxie left to see Honeytail at her border every sunrise, and Honeytail would visit Maxie’s house when she had the time. They fell in love with each other, and somewhere along the road, Honeytail was expecting Maxie’s kits.
- Maxie was ecstatic. There’d be a mini version of her living her new dream of being in a Clan. But, Honeytail voiced her concerns, saying it was forbidden for a warrior to be mates with a kittypet. Maxie was upset, and they didn’t visit each other for a few weeks. She thought of what life as a Warrior would be like. Finally, she decided to tell Honeytail she wanted to join SkyClan.
- But when she got to the gorge, there were barely any cats there. That’s odd. Didn’t Honeytail say there were many SkyClan warriors. She met with a gray cat, asking if they knew where Honeytail was. The cat didn’t recognize the name. Dazed and scared, Maxie went back home. She knew Honeytail couldn’t be dead. What happened to SkyClan? Where were they?
- With one last goodbye to Casper and her housefolk, Maxie set off to find Honeytail. She needed to see her, she needed to see their kits. She was beginning to give up hope when she saw a group of cats. SkyClan, maybe? She could see ginger fur! Was that Honeytail? She raced over to them only to realized . . . no . . . this was the group she saw in the gorge. The leader asked who she was, and that she was looking for a Clan. The leader’s eyes sparkled and he explained that they were heading to the lake, where all four Clans lived. Maxie got excited. She joined them, hoping that she’d see Honeytail once more.
- But. They reached the lake. And Honeytail wasn’t there. She heard speak of SkyClan and a cat named Alderheart trying to find them. She didn’t give up hope. She knew she’d see Honeytail and their kits. She needed to.
WOW THIS WAS A LONG ONE Sorry lol. I really wanted to delve deep into these cats’ stories since they’ve never been seen before and I went overboard lol. I love these characters so much at this point tbh, look at these babies.
