He didn't realize Kaibara would notice the dark circles under his eyes so easily, but now he was being forced to nap with her. At first, he was a bit restless, unable to close his eyes or relax whatsoever. However, as minutes went on, his nose focused on her scent and his ears on the sound of her heartbeat. Sighing softly, the man closed his eyes, snuggling a bit closer to the redhead. "Hm... Maybe just... a catnap, that's it though..." - wclvesden
Honestly, this man could be so difficult -- walking around dead tired all the time, never stopping to take a rest. Perhaps he thought she wouldn’t notice, but those bags beneath his eyes were growing so prominent that they almost warranted a designer label, and it was increasingly and irritatingly obvious that he hadn’t been listening to her when she told him that werewolf or not, he still needed sleep!
Kaibara was fed up with it. If he wasn’t going to rest on his own, then she would have to take matters into her own hands. Or rather, into his own bed and into her own arms. He appeared to need some convincing (and, perhaps, some conditioning) to help him accept that people normally slept when they were tired. Since she was sleepy and he was probably near-exhausted, it was only natural that they both take a nap.
Even then he had the gall to defy her, at first. As they lay with her arms wrapped around him and his face nestled into her neck, she could feel him -- still on high alert. She was warm and comfortable as they were, and very close to sleep herself, but she was determined to see that he fell asleep. And so she had to pull out “the big guns,” which was really only running her fingers through his hair, smoothing it away from his forehead, and leaning forward to press warm, sleepy kisses there on occasion.
Soon enough she felt him relax and shift closer into her embrace. He murmured something about a catnap, and she couldn’t help but laugh -- because the idea of a wolf taking a catnap was apparently hilarious when you were only half conscious.
“That’s fine,” she told him, confident enough that he was tired enough to sleep for much longer than a catnap that she didn’t feel the need to argue, “As long as you get some sleep!”
