“R-run! S-someone help us!!!” Villagers cried out as they ran as fast as they could back down the trail that led to their little village. Sacks of good shaking and bouncing with every heavy step as they put all their energy into trying to escape from the source of their fears. The villagers safely made it back to their village and ran to the village square to alert everyone of the impeding danger. “E-everyone go back to your homes! Lock away your goods! K-keep your family’s safe! There’s a Barbarian c-coming!” The village local shouted, causing everyone in the village to stop panicking
The little village had an unfortunate reputation of being targeted by Barbarians due to their abundant wheat fields that they used for trading goods, and when the Barbarians came around, they would often hold villagers hostage until they got every last scrap of wheat the village could muster up, and it wasn’t uncommon for villagers to get hurt during the entire process.
Coming up to the village gates was the Barbarian in question, clad in black cloth and leather body armor, with a metal pauldron on his left right shoulder, with a large spiked metal club strapped to his waist, and with faded red face paint under his left eye. The Barbarian stepped into the village, scanning the area around him, but finding no sign of anyone. The village did not look abandoned, but it was weird for the village to be empty.
Deciding to try and make his presence known, the Barbarian took a deep breath and let out the only chant he knew by memory, and chant that basically translated into a signal to let anyone around them know they were here. The Barbarian let out the chant with a bellow and continued to look around him, seeing that his chant did not draw attention. The Barbarian took a deep breath and chanted once more, continuing to look around him.
“M-m-maybe... People... No m-more... here?” The Barbarian said to himself as he started walking around the village square to see if he could find anyone. He began peering in windows of homes and shops to try and find any sign of human activity, although his good intentions could easily be misinterpreted as dark due to his appearance as a Barbarian.
