10…Who was your first love?
41…“We’re both fucked up, that’s what makes us a good pair.”
Flash of blonde locks turned to meet Ben’s gaze at the statement. Was Eleanor fucked up? Was Ben fucked up? Even without the words shared between the pair, the blonde searched his eyes and noticed nothing but a sense of understanding reflecting at her. Perhaps, they were both fucked up in their own ways. To the world, the blonde was flawless. Afraid to show everyone else of how truly, life had messed her up. The haunting thoughts of her insecurities looming over her everyday, and she wasn’t prepared to open up the wound of the loss her family suffered during her lifetime on this planet. So instead, she kept fooling the world, but Ben would always see through her facade.
“I’ll drink to that,” Eleanor answered defeatedly, raising a glass at her friend, a sad yet tired smile etched across her features before taking a sip of her drink, hoping to dull out the pain throbbing inside her. “The world really fucked us over, didn’t it? I feel like coming back is just a shitty reminder of that, don’t you think?” Her eyes scanned across the crowd, the strangers around them oblivious to the demons that clouded over the pair. “Well, at least we have each other, right?” @wcrnout
45…“I can’t believe you didn’t send me a valentine!”
“Ben,” Eleanor groaned, covering her hands over her face. Shaking her head lightly, her hands fell to her lap as she peeked over at her friend. “You know I don’t do Valentine’s Day, right? It’s just a stupid holiday!” The blonde threw her hands up in defeat, shooting an incredulous look at him before the look he gave her caused her facade to suddently drop. “Okay, okay. It’s a stupid holiday and I know I promised you a valentine…I just might have forgotten about it.” She confessed lamely.
“I’m sorry!” She apologised. “It’s just been busy and everything and I—” Eleanor suddenly stopped herself for moment, before an idea surfaced her mind. Turning to face Ben, she beamed at the man before looping her arm through his. “Come on, I have an idea! Let’s get out of this god awful island for a night and have a night of adventures in Los Angeles. I’ll make it up to you, please?” She turned to him and pouted dramatically, shooting a look that might be perceived as the puppy dog eyes at him.
