Incredible story.
Storytellers became the story. Journalist Alison Parker and cameramen Adam Ward were shot during a live interview. Now, the video still circ
It’s finally raining and thundering and hailing glad I cut the grass yesterday 🤪🤪#springthunderstorms #salemvirginia #wdbj7 #hailstorm the weather gurus are calling for more of this for the rest of the week 💨💦💨 (at Salem, Virginia)
MMMMNKKAAAYYY. so, i saw a post that started off really fucking ignorant posted by some white person about an actual thing that happened, but had turned it into some reverse racism tactic about how poc can be racist towards white people. this post spiraled into a bunch of people saying this event did not actually happen, so i have to say something. NOW, let me elaborate. this actual thing that happened was that a cameraman and news anchor were shot and murdered on live tv in moneta, virginia.

now, the shooter went by bryce williams and also vester l flanagan. he stated that the cameraman had reported him to hr and that the newsanchor had used racial slurs against him (both victims were white and the shooter was black).
that’s all i’m saying about this. this actually did fucking happen, two people were truly murdered on live tv and somehow, white people found a way to turn this into saying the shooter was an active part of the blacklivesmatter movement which is not verified at all. his tweets (as seen in the link provided above) state nothing about blm or his relationship to the movement.
i don’t care about much else that has to do with this, except letting people know that this is something that, again, actually fucking happened. my local news in maryland reran this footage all morning that day. it’s fucking real. the woman they were interviewing was shot in the back but was rushed to surgery and survived.
the following link contains footage of the event unfolding. gunshots can be heard before the cameraman goes down and feed goes back to the newsroom.

I know the answer to what we all must do: it is to profess love, not hate. To love one another, and to love strangers.

Hi guys! We know it's been forever, but we just wanted to show you this new video of a song that Sarah wrote about the tragedies in #Roanoke #Virginia, where she is originally from. Not only is Roanoke her roots, but they've always had a special place in our hearts and have always been so good to us when we've been on tour. Our friend Emily has teamed up with us on this beautiful song, and this is our first performance as the band "#Totem". We hope yopu love this and we hope it can provide healing for those who are grieving. To see the whole thing, go to the link in our bio :) #wearewdbj7 #roanokestrong #westandwithwdbj7 #wdbj7 #westandwithwdbj (at Roanoke, Virginia)
