The stereotypical friendly older sibling, tries to get along with everyone and isn't on any particularly negative terms with any sibling, minus various rough patches with Morphine. Doesn't actually resent or hate Morphine for this but tries even harder to get along with xem or at least get on xyr good side. Cares a looot for Sunny and tends to tote them around and teach them "min ways" that sometimes does and doesn't work out to a humorous end.

At times rude and aloof to outsiders, has a more familial streak with a few select siblings as the technical eldest in the siblings. Marte and Lyre are siblings Morphine tends to shift into caretaker mode over. Mushtari amuses xem because Mushtari isn't intimidated by xem or offput and thus communicates normally with xem, leading to fonder relations. Morphine cares deeply for lyre because xey see aspects of xemself in Lyre, based on what xey can understand of xem.

Basil: Birthday: January 9th (Capricorn) Celestial symbol: Saturn Gender n orientation: doesn't know gender quite yet but has girl feels, she pronouns, aroace Birth Parents: ?????

Likes fun and humor, but is one to keep to herself. Despite this she is not closed off as a person and welcomes her siblings coming to her for support or relating to people in a friendly manner. Likes watching stand up comedy with Mushtari, who they get along with best. Admires Min, gets intimidated by Morphine a lot even though Morphine doesn't necessarily say anything to her to do this.

Twin to min, Literal ball of sunshine and definitely living up to their name. Prefer to be in the company of lots of people but might not actually say much, but when they do it is usually positive and optimistic. Tends to begin the tease train on Marte the most, but knows when to back off of people for the most part. If not hanging with Min, they are probably drifting around all the siblings/trolling Marte. Enjoys a good beat in the air.

Marte: Birthday: March 30th (Aries) Celestial symbol: Mars Gender n orientation: Doesn't know gender, they/he pronouns, doesn't know orientations at all Birth Parents: Miran + Carmio

A bit of a black sheep in the family, Marte doesn't hold any particularly strong aggressive negative feelings towards any of their siblings but they can forget to talk to them...and actually be a bit resentful. On top of this he's very shy and shuts himself in his room even more than Morphine at certain points. They like Morphine a lot though and allow Morphine to braid their hair. Gets teased a lot by the siblings a lot but sometimes the "good fun" of it can really make them sad.

Mushtari: Birthday: December 1st (Sagittarius) Celestial symbol: Jupiter Gender n orientation: non binary trans girl, she pronouns, aceish lesbian all around Birth Parents: Miran + Rahat

Getting along with your family is pretty punk rock no? Mushtari is all about doing her best to do that, and sometimes organizes little events to amuse all of the siblings. Very good at absorbing negativity and morphing bad scenarios into things that can be looked back on with some degree of amusement. Likes going off on adventures and dislikes being held back. Gets along super well with Basil and the two tend to pair off together.

Lyre: Birthday: October 10th (Libra) Celestial symbol: Venus/Neptune Gender n orientation: Non binary trans (also describes gender in music), xey/they pronouns, grey panromantic pansexual

Birth Parents: Azul + Miran (conceived atypically)

Literally off in xyr own nebulous world (while still observing everyone elses). Lyre can sometimes be pushy or even mean, but generally doesn't mean any harm, and gets spoiled a lot as the youngest sibling. Xyr neurodivergency makes xem difficult to communicate with without investment in figuring out how xey work. On the best terms with Morphine, who currently has the best grips on communicating with Lyre through music and sounds. Seeks Min out and enjoys cuddling into their squishiness.

Library exit

One last book was fitted snugly on the shelf. Another section completely read off, ready to be untouched for who knows how many more years. Together, Rem and Jacob had finished some reading and at Jacob's wish, reorganized what they had read. Rem had joked around earlier and asked Jacob if he needed any help with the material, and surprisingly Jacob had said yes on one particular thing. Rem was a bit surprised but demonstrated the magic anyways, confirming what Jacob had already thought it worked like. They then agreed to walk each other to dinner, walking down a long hallway.

"Jacob! You are getting very, very good at advanced magic. Well, more than you already are." Rem's small and bubbly voice resonated in the long halls. They were currently much smaller than Jacob, and would occasionally fly up and around him as the two walked, presumably to eat something.

"I know. Thank you for letting me access your library," Jacob said.

There was a small period of where they didn't speak, and Rem flew around in an erratic manner. Continuously a bundle of energy, Jacob watched Rem fly around carelessly. He wondered what Rem was thinking and concluded that, probably, not much. Vast periods of time lived did strange things to your current state of mind. He knew Rem could be very refined, but just found it easier to be immature. Long age was like repeatedly cycling through being a child and growing into an old adult, and periodically those lines blurred with Rem. But no one especially minded these days.

Still...the castle frequently dealt with people trying to come and challenge the patrons within it, or Rem themself. Of course, they never did get as far as Rem. Some of them were even beaten by Jamie. But Jacob knew that Rem sort of passively rooted for any mysterious challenger to be able to manage to get all the way to Rem themself. All their power was sort of...sitting around. Not being used. Jacob wondered if Rem would give him some. He also wondered how hard it would be to force it out of them himself.

"Rem..." Jacob began, " Do you ever feel like you have too much power and so it causes you to be...hyper?"

They ceased their flying around in the air, beginning to walk normally. Rem looked thoughtful before answering "No, I think that me being hyper is just myself being hyper. I was like this when I was just a regular human too. I remember this."

Jacob shrugged lightly. That was true. Before Rem had undergone everything after they had vanished, they had indeed been one to rapidly move around and wander. Be it for swordsmanship or any other interest, Rem was always very hard to catch. Speaking with them was difficult, but they also always had something to say that wasn't...boring. It was worth it to seek them out, if not just for the entertainment factor. But then they became powerful in more than just blades.

"Jacob...you're not done reading my library...I'll take you awhile. I also still have books I'm not done writing. There is also knowledge that is just being discovered, even as we speak. The sea also talks to me about developments. Will you leave once you're done with all the books here?" Rem asked Jacob the question, looking somewhat worried. "I will decide later Rem. I like it here." Jacob said in reply.

"What are you learning all this for right now anyway? Just for kicks? Bored? I was bored at first when I learned all that I did and got the power with time...Jacob...what will you do when you get reaaaaaally powerful?" Rem made exaggerated, happy movements. Truly they did wonder what Jacob was up to, cooped up and reading all the time. But they had lapses in memory...perhaps Jacob had already told them what his goals were...long ago. The thought worried them. Wouldn't they remember something like that for a friend? Maybe not...they had forgotten so many things. It was sort of a secret that the library was not just there for reference, but for certain reminders for Rem. Rereading books to remind themselves of forgotten things was not something uncommon, but was something they did in secret.

They brushed the thought off briefly, but were surprised when arms were wrapped around them. Their tiny body was lifted up, and their ears picked up keenly on Jacob whispering to them, "Perhaps take control not just the darkness of void and night, but the ocean and sea...and...All it's "patrons", as well" Rem squirmed a bit, but Jacob continued. "You know what I mean, don't you Rem? I hope you haven't gotten so soft as to dull your old cunning. Eventually if you sit around too long with a bunch of power...people will try to king you."

They were silent for a moment, ceasing their squirming. Then, in an odd visual experience, they warped themself to be bigger, in one of their "true" sizes. Jacob let go of them, with Rem's feet touching the floor, and Rem turned around and faced them with an amused expression. "I AM king. At least of this domain. It will stay like that."

Jacob allowed himself a chuckle. "A king you say? Perhaps, but only in title. The last time you were a king was centuries ago, and it was bloody on all sides."

"What did you expect in a demonic realm? Turnips? My finiese and brutality is remembered there...but there's no need to kick up old dust. It's... true. I may not be a "king" but I do watch over this area, and the sea. My cats are composed of those who view me as their old king turned friend" Rem said.

"Your cats...they are various "beings" aren't they? I thought as much."

"My loyals, my pets, my friends. They would be the first to tell you that the power I have is best to just be left alone and out of the hands of unscrupulous mortals." They paused briefly, grinning. "Or, unscrupulous immortals."

"Are you implying something?"

"Only if you're implying that once you amass enough power you want to try and dominate me."

"You would view it as unscrupulous?"

"Kinky, if anything. Jakey...be gentle with me, I am old and my hips hurt, my wings are sore." Rem sounded facetious for a moment.

They laughed at their last words and turned, continuing their walk down the hallway. Jacob followed, the smell of food eventually reaching both of them. Kinky huh? He liked that, no hiding it really. At the end of the day, Rem had still spent countless years on several completely different dimension planes than this one, had amassed power and infamy...only just to throw it all away, seemingly.

Rem started to speak again. "I'll tell you this...Jakey...if I were to "mysteriously" fall under the control of someone and lend power out, it would be out of boredom. You could probably get "a lot" out of me just for me being "bored." Just...as long as your intentions go with my moral...or amoral compass. If not..." Rem stretched their wings in a seemingly lazy gesture. "...we might have a bit of a...serious...conflict. I don't know about you...but it took me a couple centries to sleep off the stress of the last conflict I had...."

Rem allowed Jacob to catch up to them and got very close to them, eyes looking down at him. Smiling somewhat with mischief, they said "Don't be mean to your friends~ predator animals don't eat prey animals if they have a symbiotic relationship you know. There's fish and sharks in the ocean like that."

"It's been a very long time we've known each other and I think that's one of the most roundabout ways to describe friendships with power imbalances you've ever spewed from that blowhole of yours.

"Glub a dub dub, one shark in a tub. Come on now, let's eat, or I'll eat you."

They had kept walking all the way down the corridor until they had reached a door, which Rem politely opened for Jacob. It smelled nice in the next room, and Jacob observed various cats and members of the castle socializing. A few looked up at the master of the place and old friend entering, but went back to their business quickly enough with a few whispers here and there.

Eat him huh? There was no one around to say that he wouldn't mind that explicitly. Rem seemed to catch onto this and turned around and said "Later, when the pets are sleeping ok? Ok."

It was a good night.

imperfections

Rem has things they are self conscious about, or thinks about a lot as an aspect about them that is imperfect. They do the best that they can to love themself because they have a mantra of "love yourself, because the world does not love you." Sometimes they change it to "Love yourself more than the people that do, just in case"

Overall body shape:

Rem is a firm believer in body posiivity, and is aware that lots of people may view them as conventionally attractive...or unattractive, as far as bigots go. However, they still experience body dysphoria, being the type of trans person that experiences that. They can have times where their body does not worry them and dysphoria is not present, but things change when dysphoria hits. Dyshphoria for them feels like a truck on their body that crushes them into the ground, and the very act of being around people and holding their head high is a feat.

Large breasts run in the family. Sometimes Rem likes them, sometimes they want to rip them to shreds. They know in their heart that their breasts shouldn't be a blatant excuse to misgender them, but there are really, really, really bad days.

Rem's hips are their best friend and worst enemy. They love their hips, they know other people love their hips...but...they do not like the idea that cis men will look at them and think "Ah yes, a perfect birthing capsule" along with "Mothering hips". It makes them feel very dysphoric and gross when people imply that their body is to be just used for "breeding", and it can really fuck with their head. Sometimes, you can find brusies on their hips because they will ram their hips into walls under the delusion that they can "flatten" them.

Their vagina is a host of feelings that they may or may not understand. There are days where their vag physically feels diseased, digusting, terrible, etc, and those are days where they are very quiet, as to not redirect any energy talking, needing that energy to keep composure. Sometimes after a lot of sex, they can have an anxiety attack at the harsh awknowledgement that a lot of people they have sex with have a warped view on their vagina (even if Rem has mantained control over them), and this causes them to experience minimal sexual attraction for a period of time. Rem is REALLY self conscious about the size of their clit, and their ability to squirt. May or may not physically flee from Ruuben when it happens with him.

Teeth:

Suprisingly or not, Rem has issues surrounding their teeth. Rem's teeth are somewhat "sharp" in general. Any tooth that has a "point" is sharper than usual, minus front teeth and the like. In particular Rem's canines are very prominent and sharp. Due to childhood bullying via name calling, Rem still has lasting thoughts about "vampire teeth" and being made fun of for being "freaky". Kids tended to move away from Rem in childhood the more that they sensed that Rem's neurotype was not "natural" to them.

Head/hair:

During an episode, Rem hurt themself on the head on accident. This occured on the right side of their head, and left a patch of skin shaved off that left a pretty noticable mark. Rem doesn't like talking about the episode, and started to go lengths for the scar to be hidden under longer hair. This, combined with another episode where they ripped a patch of hair off from their head on the left, is the reason for their "trademark" hairstyle that eventually comes in.

Breasts/Chest:

During time periods of rem being dysphoric/depressed and experencing high emotions, they do get the urge to self harm, but dont want it to be on a place where anyone might be able to see conventionally. So, during their more harsh times, they make small cuts underneath their breasts, which usually hidden by their mass. It's almost ritualistic at times, as if they're pretending they're performing a self masectomy (for extrme top dysphoria sequences). Certainly in the depths of night that is what they might think. While the cuts heal they are unlikely to pursue sex, and it is very difficult to discern what they are doing for awhile until they make a mistake and put themself in a situation where a person might see their underscars.

Hands/feet:

Because of physically and emotionally erratic behavior, Rem's hands and feet can get really banged up. During some episodes they might run around barefoot and not notice their feet get cut or injured, or be able to feel it. Coming back to reality later on they are likely to pick at scabs and try to make more cuts potentially. Since such pain is on their feet, they'll physically slow down and limp around and will need time for their wounds to heal. With their hands, they might pick up broken glass and clench, causing for more wounds. The scars on their hands from glass can trip them out and they'll feel the need to "add" onto the hurt, like with their feet.

Injection points:

With their insulin shots and then insulin pump, areas of injection may develop bruises seemingly at random. If talked to about it Rem might get snippy, as being diabetic is already stressful enough on top of everything else Rem deals with, no need to make unecessary comments.

Transitioning:

It should be noted that, while Rem is usually non op/does minimal transition stuff across aus, the actual willing option of surgery and hormones is unjustly denied to them based on their mental health history, and if Rem actually does do transition stuff, they're jumping through 5 loopholes, juggling 3 hats, leading in a mariachi band, and writing an angry letter with their teeth and spewing fire. Overall whatever steps across alternate universes and timelines, rem feels very mixed about doing anything transition related, and self conscious about physical changes.

Tattoos:

As radical as Rem's eventual tattoos are, there are plenty of people who loathe tattoos/make uneeded comments about the way Rem marks themself. Since the tattoos Rem has are all directly the art of Vinne, it feels not only like a cultural attack, but a familial one as well. Tattoo stigma can really bring Rem down. As they age, they care less, but it still hurts them.

Mental health:

Rem moves around a lot, says weird things, stops acting "normally" for periods of time, can get aggressive, and experiences breaks in reality. There's also the added stress of physical health and trying to "contend" with diabetes. People like Rem, but people don't like /dealing/ with Rem as an at risk mentaly ill trans person of color (who's later physically disabled). Rem notices this, and it causes them to get frazzled, desprately trying to inwardly reaffirm their worth and value as a person, deserving of love and care. In many instances, Vinne and the other siblings are literal lifelines to Rem's safety and autonomy as a person. The same can probably be assumed for Rem's closer friends, lovers.

Aging:

Physical disabilites come with age. Rem was already dealing with ableism in youth, so they're not new to the beast, but having physical disabilites does make the situation more stacked. Rem is fine with not having their legs for use as long as they can be in water and swim around. They are also fine with being blind, though unlearning visual reliance is difficult. They have the memory of how their grandma functioned and was happy, so that gives them strength. But they do have days or periods where they wonder "why are things like this?", "am I going to be ok?", "Is anyone actually here?". The physical pain that they get is also a factor of self doubt, they feel bad that they can't move around like they used to. But they try their best. They worry that no one will want to touch them, or get jumpy when people do touch them out of the blue.

The fat that they also develop is also another thing that makes them feel uneasy. They don't mind fat, plenty of people in their family are fat, friends they have are fat, they just feel weird/bad about how other people/society in general's general dismissal of them because they do have more weight on them. Being fat isn't something they've ever been in the past, so it's a bit of a learning experience that isn't always comfortable.

How many times? How many times did I curse myself and others?

The last thing I remember was singing. I was still human then.

"Xe's fucking losing it!"

I think I was praying to god to forgive me. I had failed. I had sinned.

"There aren't....any seeds....here...oh my god..."

I remember being consumed in a fire. It charred my entire being black. It felt like blood was exiting my body through all my pores, and my bones ground to dust.

"That's...massive....xe's...too big...we can't..."

"Excuse me, you're talking like Vinne still exists."

Then I became rage incarnate. I screamed, I sang, I burned, I burned as brightly as I could. I could only burn and flame, it was the only thought I could produce.

I wondered about Rem. My family. I forgot who I was, but I remembered them. I also remembered all that would use and abuse my family. Who would use...Rem. Sacrilege!

If there has to be a flame for hell, in the holy name of god I will immolate all heretics. I could sense a heretic. Just one being was enough to send me into a frenzy, yet I couldn't even tell who they were. To exterminate all was the only precaution to be made.

"Vinne please, it's Remmy. I love you! Please come back to me!"

Even if I must destroy what I want to protect, it is better to live purely through death than to live among the morals and ideals of filth.

"Do it Rem. Kill it."

"I will not be forgiven for this"

I was felled from the sky. I remember crashing into the ground, my arms....no...my wings of massive fire and flame creaking and breaking. I felt cold, as if steel were piercing me from every direction, every angle.

His swords, his love, his ribbon and lace. Their smile.

If I had to die, of course Rem would be the death of me. The amount of irony ran deep, and though at that time I could not turn time on it's knees (for I had no energy left to do so) I thanked god that I had not killed Rem. My last regret was that I could not continue to try and save them.

I died.

Again.

"I'm a monster. I hate myself."

"It's ok Rem...I'm going to bring Vinne back."

Repeating and repeating...all the anger, all the grief, all the sorrow. Only hanging on because of faith in a savior. The seeds, the seeds aided me but did not console me. When I died the frist time, it was by the hands of that wretch.

But Persephone brought me back, back from the underworld. How fitting.

"Are xey waking up?"

I hadn't traveled as much then.

I hadn't experienced as much then.

You don't ever count on someone being a time traveler.

Coming back into existance was excrutiating.

"Vinne...can you hear me?"

Instantly

I remebered

Everything

That had ever happened.

Including all my violent vehemence, me as a...warchain. My thoughts as...Ignis? My thoughts as....Ziz....?

The sheer amount of grief that had given birth to those forms....astounding.

Everything that had ever burned inside of me, that had truly given me meaning, reason, passion, rose above all.

Looking back on it, I pitied them all. They couldn't have possibly expected what could of happened.

Persephone's grand mistake was always making so that those she brought back were still magi, still contracted.

"Somethings still wrong...!"

My soul gem tainted immediately, and I once again burst into flames. Ah, rapid sucession.

But I remembered Rem, all their love, kindness, and even their swords. I rememberd their steps and dances.

So I danced. I danced and sang. As I was being consumed by my SELF, I danced and sang MORE.

If I must burst into flames, allow me to decide how long I burn.

Allow me to char my bones and form into any shape I please.

A shape for domination.

A shape for destroying sinners.

A shape for grace and durability.

A shape for whatever I needed.

I fell.

I fell twice.

But I rised three times.

Flames may have consumed me, but I danced within them, dodged them, and controlled my own fate. It was at that point I decided I had fallen to a point of depth that would be nigh impossible to return from. I went into all of this...wanting to alter fate...

But now I just wanted to control it. If I could control the past and present, why not the future too?

"Is that...really Vinne?"

"Looks like Vinne....but..."

"Jacob why do you have that expression?"

Ah, what was I wearing anyway? No matter, I knew it would suit my fancy. What was I to do now? One look at Rem and I knew. Ah, my glorious twin. So powerful now, I could feel it eebing out and off of them, but no one was even aware.

Except him.

I could feel an aspect of myself, similar, coming from him. Ah, so he was like me? If only in status.

I didn't care about this timeline. I left into the black.

I knew he would be there to greet me.

"Vinne. So the little bird grew up just to die and be reborn again?"

"Jacob. Rot."

"Oh my oh my, such harsh words already?"

"I know who you are, what you've done, and where you stand. I loathe you. Death would be a fate too lovely for you."

"Are you going to try and run back to your twin? They're mine now."

"What...?"

The dark void around us lit up with my flames. He produced a soft glowing fish bowl. I could see Rem inside it, like a small super battery. Energy poured out of them, yet they were sleeping soundly.

He looked pleased with himself. My face was expressionless.

"Don't underestimate me."

Just like that, the bowl was in my hands. Just touching it felt good and comforting, and I wanted to hold it for the rest of time. I took great happiness seeing Jacob's face fall just a tad. It was fleeting, as the bowl suddenly left my hands and reappeared in his.

"Don't think just because you're the free one in the two for one deal you have any right to hold a god that's of your own blood."

How annoying. His smirk was enough to make me want to spit fire.

"So you think I'm the add on, not even worth spending money on?"

"No pun intended, but I don't even think you're worth time."

"So you're aware of what I can do."

He didn't answer, so I smiled and brought the bowl back to me, and on top of it, I made it bigger, giving Rem more space. He raised a brow but said nothing.

The bowl went back to him. He made it bigger.

I stole it again, and did the same.

He looked annoyed at the idea that it might become too heavy for him. Fine by me, everyone forgot that I was the stronger of two twins.

That happens when you don't exercise power. It lulls people into a false sense of security. Too bad for Jacob.

I made the bowl huge. To the floor I set it, looking at Jacob from across the surface, Rem still sleeping soundly in liquid.

They were life sized now.

"You'll never be able to lift it and them as long as you have nothing on your bones. Skeletons can't lift shit." A smirk.

Looks like I struck a nerve.

"Why don't we lift it together?"

"Didn't you just say I wasn't worth time?"

"Compromises can be made"

"I recall saying that I hate you, and I'm wondering if you understand the concept of "hatred", or if you really are just a skeleton with no heart, OR brain."

"Any brain I have at least wouldn't be made up of feathers and dust. Sound familiar?"

"Rot, sound familiar?"

He had the nerve to step up to the bowl, lean over it gracefully and dip his hands into the fluid, darkening it immediately.

Rem writhed in the bowl.

"I could make them rot, instead."

I scoffed a him and put my own hands into the bowl, setting it ablaze, flames eating darkness and being engulfed by them all the same. Rem continued to writh, and it seemed they would wake too, as they made the motion of screaming but only bubbles came out.

The bowl vanished. Rem had "fled"

"Vinne...you..."

"Looks like it's a race to Remmy now eh? I'd like to see you try to beat blood."

With that I entered time again, leaving Jacob behind.

Of course I knew he would be behind me. Possibly even to my side.

But I would make absoulte sure that he never,

ever,

would be in front of me again.

During the nasod war, there was a small group of people who wondered if nasods and humans could combine. The theory was innocent at first: If humans and nasods had coexisted peacefully before, combining into one race would be beneficial by reducing el energy intake.

There was strong initial pushback to this from humans that did not wish to combine with nasods. Several sting operations took place on the group, much of their research being conficated, and the researchers being subject to abusive behavior for their ideals. Nontheless, their passion and noble intent kept them going. However, things got more sinister as more and more research was conducted under the table.

Nasods were powerful.

So were humans.

To combine the two...would be a power to control people and things with.

The idea of power corrupted some of the human researchers, and a few nasod researchers as well. This corrupted side eventually took over the effort of the group, quickly taking drastic measures to further progress and their research by whatever means possible.

The first experiments were unsuccesful. There wasn't a stable way to preserve human bodies and nasod bodies melded together in the way the production wanted. That, and the mind of the human was hard to preserve, essentially making for a nasod with fleshy bits and no brain power.

The second wave of experiments was more substancial, but it was almost impossible to obtain willing participants after news of the mortal failures of the first experiments. However, when reward was brought into play, it enticed a few folk. Thus with this new batch of participants, a new method of perserving mind, body, and soul was introduced. All that was needed was some magic gems, and for extra performance...pieces of the el. Of course, this was before the giant el had shattered, so stealing pieces of the el was hard work while it was protected.

The soul of the human, with emotions unprecedented, could be tucked away into el enfused gems and then applied to a nasod body. The human participant could keep their mind, their memories, everything. They now also had a body that they could alter in any way they wished, as long as mechanics were present. The next idea was to combine nasod parts onto a human body in greater percision and function, to decrease the need for such a substancial amount of el, but make the body more durable. Humans afterall, did not need el as a literal direct life force. Humans could eat, drink, and sleep to obtain energy, but were frail.

Eventually a balance was found. A body both human and nasod, in full. But the cost was paid in blood and scrap metal, left in the wake of the participants deemed unsuccesful. That, and at this point in the nasod and human conflict, neither side was willing to accept such research, or results. Both sides were bitter over violence, and once word once again got out, the project was once again subject to assault from authorities, though this time, only human. Most nasod were trying to flee from humans at this point. This time, all research and evidence was confiscated and tucked away, while all of the group was basically but into imprisonment. Most would die there. As for the "sucessful" participants...they were eliminated for being "more nasod than human".

But there were a few in the group that escaped imprisonment. They were the original researchers who had been corrupted in their pursuit for power. Using savings and funds, and a few illicit barters, they managed to recover their research and materials. But after the incident with the authorities...there were no new willing participants. Not even with high rewards offered to people to participate. So what the remaining researchers did, was start to rob the battlefields for nasod parts, and rob homes of humans for....humans.

It was following this that these researchers would take their project to their final envisioned step, the "third wave": Creating human nasod hybrids enfused with power. Battle capacity. Ultimately the researchers would produce their final goal, and ultimately, their own creations would destroy them, along with most of the research that had brought about their creation. For good. These creations were perfect in the goals of the researchers, but they were still individuals. All of them had been forced away from their homes, friends, and families, for the sake of of a noble goal turned twisted. When attempting to go out and find solace among society, many were hunted down and destroyed in the midst of the nasod human war, either being too human or too nasod for either side. Some however survived by escaping into capsules, where they would rest for hundreds or thousands years, undectable to humans or nasods.

Some even still survive currently, but they're hard to find, and won't talk about easily about what they were subjected to. Some are content with their bodies, but others want to pursue a pure nasod body, while others want to pursue a pure human body. Then you have the few that wish to become beings that fall into neither category...

Abilities:

Time travel

Can travel backwards in time only up to the point of having been born into the world. Cannot travel past a point of not existing to begin with. The further back in time Vinne goes, the quicker Vinne's soul gem taints. Can go forward in time, but only half of what was previously traveled backwards. Taints soul gem extremely quickly, faster than going back in time. Often the safest choice is to just live out the time traveled backwards again.

Example: Vinne travels back in time to when they were 7, having been 14 in timeline A. Now 7 in timeline B, having traveled backwards 7 years means that they can only move forward 3 years and 5 months.

If Vinne isn't careful about how they manage their time travel, they risk instantly entering W form depending on how much accumulated time they travel forward and back. It should be noted that Vinne cannot "stop" in the middle of traveling forward or backward in time, and has to spend a certain amount of time in the new time period before traveling again*. Vinne also has to go in a back forward back forward back fashion, unable to go in a back back forward forward back forward (or any variant) pattern.

* 14 seconds, 14 minutes, 14 hours, or 14 days depending on how much time was moved forward and back. Lower amounts equal less time, higher amounts equal more time.

"Hawk eye"

An intermediate level skill that Vinne has to learn on their own after a medium level of resets. Initially, all this ability does is give Vinne the ability to allow people they've interacted with to observe what happens first hand to them in other timelines via a lightly cosmic looking projector room. At first it's only Vinne's perspective since that's all they're good enough to be able to pull off. But as Vinne gets better at the skill, all they have to do is pick a person for the person to be able to experience the timeline(s) from their /own/ perspective. Once Vinne has an advanced level grip on this ability, they can actually use it to "spy" on the reconstructed memories of other people. This is how they "see" and "learn" about potential future plans of action to "fix" things.

"Birdcage"

This skill is actually a carry on from Vinne's hawk eye. Only is utilized by them when they start to get a bit yandere and delusional. With this, it allows Vinne to take control of persons who are in their projector room and put them in a sleep like state with Vinne basically manipulating what they "dream" about. It's basically used to sedate people and in the case of other magi folk, keep them trapped away from any outside influences. Appears to slow down grief taint process on magi folk, but can't truly stop the flow. However, their soul gems still react to grief seeds, so essentially Vinne can maintain the people in their cage if Vinne can collect enough grief seeds, thus preserving them in a mother hen sort of fashion.

Though, it really is a bird cage in that, the thing inside of it is protected, but it is not free.

Weaponry:

Average to intermediate weaponry: Can use a variety of explosive weapons, such as grenades and time bombs along with plain ol' fire magic. Remington Model 887 shotgun is also eventually added into Vinne's arsenal, along with several desert eagle pistol variants, but nothing more than that. Vinne pulls whatever physical weaponry they need out of the cosmic bits on their cape. Vinne prefers at first to just use fire magic, but realizes eventually that they can use less magic with explosives and guns.

"Wings Of Time"

Advanced weaponry. Large charred and molten looking victorian style clockhands that are shaped in a swordish fashion. They are meant to be dual wielded, When the clock hands "cut", they seem to erase whatever material they directly ran through, leaving a gap of space where things have been "cut". Leads to some body horror visual effects, considering that people can still move despite missing chunks in their physical make up. What will happen is eventually the gaps will combust into flames, and the person or thing will be burnt alive. Vinne typically does not like to use this weaponry as the capacity for cruelty in it actually scares them, but after awhile....

Where did it all go wrong?

When I'm born on the big island, along with my twin, my parent's marriage is in shambles. By the time we're old enough to comprehend anything, our parents are in the midst of a divorce. I barely get the time to know any of my sisters before my mother and them move away. Custody of myself and I is soley up to our father.

It's just Vinne and I.

Sometimes, sometimes when we are small our grandparents that are alive on mom's side dare to try to visit. Our father allows them just to mock them behind their backs and complain to them about their daughter and all her mistakes. However, Grandma and Grandpa spend time with us since they live together nearby. They ignore Dad but I can tell they don't like him.

When Vinne looks into grandpa's eyes, he tells me later on "I want to be like grandpa.

When I look into grandma's eyes, I already know I'm like her. She's beautiful even in old age, and her stories are wonderful. I listen to them patiently, while Vinne is more impatient.

We grow up. We enter school.

I play with girls, Vinne plays with boys. We don't care. What I do care about is when the other boys say I can't play with them. That makes me angry, so I hit them and bite them. Quickly, I'm labeled as a problem child. Vinne comes back to me during play time, because the girls think I'm too weird and the boys don't like me.

I like myself. I like lots of things. I like writing letters to better behaved boys on the mainland of the usa. Grandma told me that we shouldn't be a part of the usa. That it was taken from hawaiians illegally. That makes me mad, and it's hard to sit still and write letters, but once I start getting them back I calm down.

I get assigned to a boy named Ruuben. He likes sports, well I do too at the time. Along with all sorts of other stuff. We tell each other a lot about each other during elementary years, but then the program stops and we (probably we) both move on. What I dont move on from is grandma and grandpa dying in a house fire Vinne accidentally started. I'm not sure how I feel about Vinne for a long time after that, but I still love him very much. It's around this time that I think about a dream grandma told me about before she died. She said I was young and handsome, and not a girl at all! But a boy. In the dream that is. She also said that even if I was a boy mostly, that there was a little something else there that wasn't boy or girl. I didn't quite understand but I remembered it. Thought about it. Am I...a girl? Or a boy? Or.....or....????????

It's around 10 that I see some very large people go by me. They look like ladies, but they do not have delicate forms, and their features are sharp and angular, accented with colorful make up. I like the make up, it's fun to look at them. They see that I'm curious and make playful quips at me. They like my light hair and red eyes. When I ask them if they're ladies or gentlemen, they just chuckle at me. Some of them say they're ladies, some of them say that they're not ladies or gents. But they all call themselves "transgender". The term sound familiar, and I get sad thinking about grandma because she's the one who told me about it. I tell them, "my grandma told me once I might be that!"

The atmosphere shifts a bit, and I can feel eyes fixed on me from all of them. It makes me nervous. Did I do something wrong? "No" They say, and then they inform me more about what my grandma probably meant. Hmm. Trans...gender...We had learned about transplanting in school, moving a plant from one pot to another. I asked if it was like that.

They laughed at it, but in a good natured way, and said "A bit.

Then dad comes. He shoes me away from the people, looks at them funny. They look funny right back. The exchange sits with me a bit awhile after that. When I tell Vinne about it later, he says questioningly "Tr...an...ni-" but before he can finnish I hit him. I can feel it in my gut somehow that he's about to say a bad word. A /real/ bad word. We don't care about fuck and piss as bad words anymore. But something strong tells me to care here.

I think about it.

I think about it more and more. I think about being a boy, being a girl, or not knowing whats going on. I don't think I really want to be a girl. It's not because I don't like how boys treat me as a "girl", I think it just feels better. So, that thought cycles itself around in my head. I tell Vinne about it, and he seems to...not quite get it but says

I'm so proud of myself for realizing something about myself. I hope that the realization makes my dad happy, since it means I'm growing up. ----

Vinne watches as dad grabs me violently and slams me against the wall. I'm too shocked to even scream, but he drops me and I crumple to the ground. Dad kicks Vinne into the basement and locks the door, and then....then he comes to "deal" with me. My rational father is gone. Or perhaps, he was never there in the first place.

He deals with me for the next 5 years.

I'm just a problem child. I'm just a mistake. I'm just sick, and need to be corrected. It's all so scary, I never say I'm a boy again, but dad knows I still think I am. He tries to squeeze it out of me. He's subtle for awhile.

I'm only 12 when he starts doing things to me. It's betrayel. He'll take me to the basement in the night while Vinne is sleeping. He tries to be nice at first, gentle. That make it all the more scary when he touches me. I tell him to stop but he just puts a hand across my mouth and tells me all about how he can fix me. I desprately wonder when I became sick or broken. But there is no answer.

Vinne is shocked with me, since I love swimming, and it even seems that I'm fairly good at surfing even if I just started. Eventually I grow less afraid of the water and start surfing stuff again.

Dad says that if I call myself a boy he'll take surfing lessons and my board away. He says he'll take so many things away from me. I think, he's already taken things from me, that I will never, ever, ever get back. But for some fucked up reason, I don't question him. He is the authority. He runs my life.

When I get my first period it's a literal nightmare.

He uses it constantly to remind me of my place, and my "womanhood". It makes me depressed. Vinne is very, very concerned, but doesn't know anything. Yet.

Dad never buys me pads, only tampons. He says that the insertion will remind me of my true sex and therefore my true gender.

It's labeled as a "shark attack" since no noise comes from me during it, but my victim is still screaming.

I'm expelled. There's a small news story. Things spread fast when all you live on is some glamorized chain of rocks in the middle of the ocean. Grandma would cringe if she heard me say that. She'd probably cringe at all the thing I had done anyway. I didn't view myself as like her anymore. I wasn't great or beautiful. All I was was a heap of walking cells with another heap of walking cells that looked exactly like me.

After I was expelled, dad pulled Vinne from school as well. He had a job, so he couldn't homeschool us audequately, but that's what he filed us under. In reality, it was just a thing that led to Vinne and I slacking off before highschool. We were only 13, so we messed around a lot. But Vinne had little interest in me after everything that had happened, I had essentially lost him tons of "friends". But I quickly convinced him that it was fine to just be around me.

It was at that point where we didn't go out much. If we did go out, we'd hide ourselves and flee to a beach portion that no one was around.

But dad still punishes me for the shark attack.

He knows why I did what I did. He knows. He knows everything about me.

This time when he takes me into the basement, it gets more intense and I just sort of accept it. I feel sick and wrong as he tries to get me used to "penetration" so I can use my tampons easier. I don't know what I was thinking those days, my brain was super muddled. Between some therapy and school work, I was doing my best to keep up with the world, but sometimes...well, a lot of the time it was hard. It was hard to still go to school, even if I did have the backdrop of winning the basketball tourney with the remainder of "the guys", it always was accompanied by "yeah but did you hear she, er, 'scuse me, "he" got raped?" when I would walk down the halls. It was a bit sombering, considering the fact that I would always hear gossip over the fact that I was fucked up, but nothing about the people who fucked me up. Well, as messed up as it all was, I thought "good, I don't wanna hear about them."

I'd have thoughts. They didn't get life when they were sentenced. They deserved it, of course, but that never seems to happen with rapists and the like. Sometimes I'd think, hey, thats ok. Other days I'd mess myself up over missing them. I'd lay down and abuse myself over even wanting any of them back in my life, except not perpetrators of violence against me. I was still chatting happily with David and telling him to do his best when dealing with his family, giving him the support I could. I was making bets with Carter not over if Ruuben would get angry at something, but specific details like how and when. I did the same thing. But now, the only books I read are assigned in school.
