Meet Avalon “Ava” Tucker. She’s 19 years old and kind of looks like Natalia Dyer. She is the daughter of Gemma Pennington and Manny Tucker. She’s a first year.

Ava is awkward, clumsy, and socially under-developed. She loves people and is a great friend one-on-one, but she gets nervous at parties and events where she’s in large crowds. She’ll often stutter under pressure. She wishes she could be more like her mom, and hopes to one day have conversation come as easily to her as it does to Gemma.

Ava studies chemistry like her parents. Science comes naturally to her. She is kind of a nerd, and often chooses to experiment in her dorm rather than go out with her friends. She tutors in biology and chemistry in the library and is a teacher’s assistant for the high school honors science classes.

Just because Ava is quiet does not mean she is weak. From a very young age her parents instilled in her a sense of self worth and determination. She doesn’t take lightly to disrespect and isn’t afraid to point out when someone is being offensive or distasteful towards her or her friends. #feminism

Ava discovered her magic at age ten, when a quarrel with her little brother caused his hour-long levitation. As she grew older she learned to control her powers of telekinesis, hypnosis, and spell-casting. With the help of her parents, she has continued to study and focus her powers, only using them if she really needs to or to help someone she loves. Very few of Ava’s comrades know she even has them.

Meet Marley Stark. He’s 22 years old and kind of looks like Dacre Montgomery. He is the son of Gemma and Bruce Stark. He’s a fourth year.

The middle child of the Stark clan, Marley tries to remain under the radar. he does it rather well, avoiding being associated with his braniac older sister or wild child younger sister. If it weren’t for his powers, he thinks he might have been able to fade completely out of the light. Marley inherited all of Gemma’s powers, including telekinesis, hypnosis, and spell-casting. He has a special affinity for herbs and uses them in many of his spells. 

Marley's familiar is a black and white cat named Skunk. Skunk was adopted by the Starks when Marley was 15, and was found Marley and Gemma in the chicken coop of their Carpenterina ranch. Skunk follows Marley pretty much everywhere he goes, and is considered Marley’s best friend.

Marley may seem shut off to the world, but in his silence is keen observation. Because of this, Marley is very intuitive to the needs of others, and is quick to help anyone, or anything, he thinks is in need. He usually does this from a distance as to not draw attention to himself.

Meet Poppy Stark. She’s 18 years old and kind of looks like Liana Liberato. She is the daughter of Gemma and Bruce Stark. She’s a first year.

Poppy Aura is the youngest of the Stark clan, and as her name suggests, she’s a wildflower in a field of roses. Poppy is the most rambunctious and out there of Bruce and Gemma’s kids, and often feels like her siblings are sticks in the mud. Still, she and Indi are very close, and she’ll go to her for anything.

In 2040, Poppy got together with her cousin Callie to create the punk band Aura, with Poppy on drums and Callie on guitar/vocals. As the years went by, the two realized they needed more instruments and less of Callie’s voice, and recruited Celeste on guitar, Izzie on keys, Tris on bass, and Ixchel on vocals. Aura is now a well known girl band in the LA area, though Poppy credits some of their fame to her and Callie’s dads. Still, Aura is on their way to major success, as long as they can stay together long enough to record their first album.

Like her mother was, Poppy is a bit of a stoner. She knows both of her parents disapprove, but frankly, she couldn’t care less. Poppy thinks it makes her stand out among her smarter, straight-edge siblings, and being the black sheep of the family is better than being the baby.

Gemma Stark || WDPA Future Week

Gemma and Bruce married in June of 2019 with a small ceremony in Joshua Tree, CA, two months after finding out that Gemma was pregnant with their first child.

The two “settled down” in Carpinterina, CA, about an hour and a half away from Santa Monica. The two bought a ranch near the coastline where they raise chickens (for eggs only) and horses. Gemma is a drug researcher at WDPA’s medical center, but comes and goes more now that they live farther away and Bruce’s income more than covers the mortgage. She is content tending to her land, and it keeps her busy while Bruce is on tour.

The Starks have two children in 2023, three year old Indi Rose and two year old Marley Jonah. They do not plan on having any more. Gemma and the kids stay by themselves a lot of the time, but The Starks plan to take them on the road when they’re a little older. They’ll fly to a few shows here and there, though.
