i forgot to post this earlier, but thomas maher published an article on the winners and losers from the first bahrain test, and with all the ho-hum williams posts i’ve seen over the past few weeks, i figured it would be worth posting.

tl;dr: they’re catching up. they tied mclaren for the most laps over three days of testing, without major incidents. the car might be a bit overweight, but we don’t know by how much, and it’s unlikely they’re the only ones.

it was a solid first week of testing - let’s hope that continues!

i wanan write nanami being a dad to yuuji and i know there’s all of the typical things that i could write it with but also i really want to just write them possibly watching a movie together and nanami doesn’t watch the movie (maybe occasionally he does) but what he does watch is how excited yuuji is that he’s just spending his time with him

and maybe yuuji slips up and admits that he never actually got to watch movies with his grandfather because they didn’t really have the money to rent movies and then when his grandfather was in the hospital he really didn’t have the money for it because he has to spend everything that he could paying for his grandfather and making sure that he was ok and the last person he watched a movie with was jumpei but now he doesn’t have anyone to watch movies with so thank you, nanami-

and nanami just says that he’ll watch whatever movies he wants to with him, he doesn’t mind. and yuuji grins, and nanami feels so paternal towards this boy in front of him that he rests an arm against his shoulder, and yuuji shuffles against his side and that’s how he falls asleep, wrapped up in his father figures arms and feeling safer and happier than he has in a long time
