So Labor are finally getting around to doing something about all the robodebts that have been on pause for nearly a decade now. They just announced they'll be waiving every 'debt' under $250 and introducing legislation to clarify what happens to all the other historical 'debts', with the alleged intent to avoid recalculating them. And the sensible, reasonable, obvious thing to do would be to implement the Robodebt Royal Commission recommendation irt reinstating a six year time limit on government debt collection. That would seem to be the only real option. And that would finally free me of these ghouls holding me hostage over a debt they've never been able to substantiate. Yet going by the last decade of cruel and unusual punishment I've endured with robodebt all I'm expecting to be clarified is how everyone gets off the hook except for me. The legislation gonna be "whatever we say you owe, you owe, it's the law, and that's how we avoid recalculating any demonstably fake debts tee hee"
