I started this on my day off

For a few years, I've had an idea for a multimedia art piece to give to my bestie, and just like most of my ideas, it remains incomplete. I didn't even start actually, save for a rough sketch that I did two months ago and put in my wallet. A more detailed sketch keeps going unfinished on my to-do lists and I realized why today: petty me wants to see what she does for my upcoming birthday before starting anything for her. I'm not expecting a card, but I hope to get a message online, however she wants to do it. She seemed very gleeful that she didn't send out cards this past December, meaning I didn't receive one, and I really think that if I hadn't wished her Merry Christmas first, wouldn't have said anything.

I never thought she'd be included in the list of people whom I give a ton of myself to only to get not much in return. I liked sending cards until I realized I wasn't worth the same, or even a heads up.
