Black History Month

Every year, February is the month where the history of blacks is celebrated, remembered and honored. It’s the month we thank those who opposed higher authority in order to live a life equal of other races. One such important person is Marcus Mosiah Garvey (1887-1940) born in the parish of St. Anna located in Jamaica. Garvey tried to establish relationships and connections through all black communities, countries, and business for the welfare of his black people. For instance, Garvey founded the Negro World Newspaper, Black star (an international shipping company that promotes black culture and resources) and Negro Factories Corporation. All of which was needed to help blacks in need to grant encouragement to all and to improve the economy as well. His goals were ambitious and his deeds were complimentary. He was born in Jamaica and had spent most of his time in the United States. Shortly after, he became a leader of the Black Nationalist Movement, which was the largest organization with about 11 million members and the largest in African-American history.  Garvey sustained this organization with his belief in Pan-Africanists. Pan-Africanists is a bond with lies between people of African descents and the idea that all descendants must be unified. Which led to the unification of the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA). Garvey’s number one goal was to grant Blacks from Africa, the Caribbean and America Emancipation of their minds. To help them reform from doubting their intellect based on skin color and help them believe they are just as proficient as anyone else. Also, Garvey's intent was to change what the tragic history have done by cleansing the atmosphere of slavery and telling all Blacks that everything will be alright. By doing this he spoke out against economic exploitation and cultural denigration which was the source of all chaos between Blacks and Whites.     To me these qualities Garvey had invested in the world signifies his importance and contribution to history and most importantly black history. This is the type of leadership we need to bring about world peace. Garvey wasn’t mad at anyone, he was just looking out for his people and offering them resolution, new life, and hope. He deserves a spot in the history books and should be remembered during Black History month. Because he was there for us along with many other known fighters for black rights, so we shall honor them in our memories. Because if it wasn’t for them and their sacrifices, I wouldn’t be here today writing this post and believing that I can be anything I set my mind to.

Time to vent (racial unawareness)

Sooooo today I got really pissed at this *bleep* on twitter trying to deny her blackness because she was only "half black" and Puerto Rican. So I had to school her ass on how Puerto Ricans and any other Hispanics that are located near US (IE CUBA COLOMBIAN DOMINICAN BRAZILIAN Ect) ARE OF BLACK FUCKING DESCENT! So you are automatically black by just Rican or Brazilian or what the fuck ever you are and need to except that fact. You are black and it's beautiful. But she wanted to debate like that "little" but if black didn't matter.... ALLL THE BLACK MATTERS it's the dominant Gene you can tell it! Spain had African slaves they brought to the new land and raped and mated with the Africans they had captured helping to create what we have today.
