I’m not sure if Mr. Santorum has ever seen what a weapon of any grade can do to a body. Just going out on a limb I’m going to guess not. If he thinks kids learning CPR is the answer he is a fucking idiot! CPR is not going to help if some crazy person is hell bent on doing a killing spree in the mall where I work, the school my brothers attend, or the schools where my relatives teach. I was a sports medicine student for 4 years, raised by a nurse, and I’ve been CPR/first aid certified for almost 5 years. Even after all of that, I can confidently say I cannot effectively breathe into a person if they have a punctured lung or pneumothorax. I cannot start a persons heart if it has been shot. I cannot save someone’s live if they have stomach contents or blood pouring into their abdomen. I cannot save a child with CPR if they’ve been shot in the head. Teaching everyone CPR is not going to solve this.
