@i-have-zero-chill @florchis yes - I read it the same way. S1 Jemma seemed to have two categories - 1. the symmetrical ones for sex and 2. Fitz for everything else. That;s why it was so interesting when Trip got thrown into the mixture. I think FitzSimmons always considered the other as a separate level - clearly beyond romantic interest (because romantic didn't even start to address the depth of their connection).

I always interpreted that scene as Jemma (who we've been told has trouble with romantic feelings- and who I personally headcanon as demiromantic) being genuine about it: she never thought of him that way because she never realized what she has with Fitz as ~romantic feelings~. But they are, and that's the contradiction Bobbi is reading on her, and is also this scene, I think, the one that made her go "mh, maybe they /are/ romantic". But, yeah, in short, same thing.
